{chapter 03}

[madalaine's pov]

I want to know what's up with these two and quietness. All this awkward silence is getting on my nerves.

we were sitting at the table at veggie grill, me in the middle Travis and Vanessa on my sides. Both on their phones

"You know what i love to do"

Neither looked up, or responded

"What do you love to do?" I said in a mock Travis voice

"Yeah madalaine" this time i said it in a mock vanessa voice

"Well thanks for asking guys, i love to break ice. It's like my favorite thing to do ever"

"I think it's better we stay quiet, we don't want
anything said thats not needed" Vanessa responded still looking at her phone.

That's when Travis finally looked up

"What the hell did you say?"
He looked past me and straight at Vanessa.

"I said,Travis, we should keep it quiet. Don't want anyone to say something that can't be undone"

"I wish you and my girlfriends kiss could be undone" Travis said raising his voice

"You asshole! I didn't know toni and Cheryl would be couple when i got toni! I didn't ask to make out with madalaine"

"Sure you didn't. I bet you-"

"Guys will you shut up!" I screamed. Gaining attention from other people at the Resturant.

I pointed to Vanessa
"Your my bestfriend"

I then pointed to Travis
"And your my boyfriend. There's no switching, there's no false feelings, there's no anything! Ok guys. Maybe we should've canceled dinner"

[vanessa's pov]

"-Ok guys. Maybe we should've canceled dinner"

I frowned when madalaine said that.

"Sorry mads. Maybe i should just call an Uber home" i began to put my purse on my shoulder and stand up when madalaine grabbed my wrist, stopping me.

"No, I'll go"

"No babe, let her go. We should have a date night, right?" He looked into my eyes

"Right" vanessa said before i could even respond "enjoy your date night" she smiled (a fake one) as she walked away.

"Finally we are aaaloneee" Travis said stretching his arm around me

"Yeah, finally" i murmured
