The Eden Club

Audrey's Pov

I went to go Hank some new clothes for him so that we could head to the crime scene. I picked him out some warm ones, and set them on the bathroom counter. It seems I had interrupted a conversation. "Here are some clothes Hank. Finish getting that out of your system, so we can head out." I say and walk out to go sit on the couch. Sumo jumps up and sits beside me. I pet him in return.

Hank's Pov

I look up from the toilet to see Connor looking at where Audrey was a few minutes ago. 'I think he likes her, I mean he keeps asking questions about her. Not to mention the look he has when he stares.' I think to myself as I start to get dressed. "Stop lookin at where she was. It ain't gonna make her appear there." I say with a chuckle. Connor looked at me, then to the door.

"May I ask a question about Audrey?" "Shoot, I'm all ears." "I understand how you and her have a bit of history, can you tell me about her parents?" Connor asks me. "Jackson and Nora Pace.... I had known them both for a good while, as well as Audrey. She used to be so happy all the time. It was child's play to make her smile. But ever since the death of her mom, her dad had changed. He wasn't the man I knew anymore. He changed Audrey into what she is today. The cold, quiet person. He told her something that she didn't want to hear. She told me everything when I saw her cryin one day. I never forgot the words she said to me." I tell Connor, he listened intently as I spoke. "So... why ya interested in her parents?" I ask. "I was just wondering, since she said she would pick up on it with me, but she never did." "That's cause she don't like talkin about them. After all, she haven't found her father. After she moved out, he disappeared. He was considered dead, but Audrey doesn't believe it."

I'm finally done, when I hear Audrey call out, "I'm just gonna assume that your saying good things about me, since I heard my name a few times." All I do is laugh. We go out of the bathroom to see her with Sumo in her lap, a clam smile on her face. 'Heh, maybe she is opening up more. Maybe he can help her.' I think to myself as I hear Audrey say, "C'mon, lets go to the crime scene." And we head out.

-time skip- Audrey's Pov

We finally get to the Eden Club, and as we walk in Hank asks, "Sexiest androids in town. You two sure this is where the investigation is at?" Connor replies with, "It's the location on the information." "Yeah, that's what is says." I say while looking at my information screen.

We're walking in, and I see Connor looking at one of the androids, I started to feel slightly jealous... 'why can't he look at you like that?' The voice in my head muttered to me. 'I don't know, but I do want him to look at me like that.' I reply to it back and call out to Connor, "Hey! The fuck are you doing? Hurry up, Connor." And continue walking. "Coming, Audrey." He says and walks up to us.

"Hey Chris. So what do we have?" Hank asks as we walk into the crime scene. (I know Gavin is supposed to be in this part, but as in the previous chapter, he isn't allowed back to work for two weeks. So I have a side part.) Chris is in here as well as another detective. He walks up to me, "Hey, the name's Alexander. What's yours, beautiful?" "Audrey." I reply as I walk further in. "Mind if I accompany you in this investigation? I think I would be of use." He purrs while getting closer. "I already have my two co-workers, so if you'll excuse me, I have a job to do." I say and walk to the body, taking pictures for evidence. Alexander just kept on pestering though. 'I just met him, and I already want to knock him out. But he isn't as bad as Gavin...' I mutter to myself as I continue to ignore him.

Finally, it seemed that Connor was getting fed up with him and said, "I suggest that you leave her alone. She has already asked you to stop." "Oh yeah? What are you gonna do?" He said and pushed Connor back. "That's enough Huffman!" Chris said. "You heard him. Leave him alone." I say as well, stepping in between him and Connor. "Oh wow, your defending a fucking machine! Why? Aren't they the reason why a civil war is starting!?" Alexander yells out. "THATS ENOUGH ALEXANDER HUFFMAN, GET YOUR ASS OUT." Chris yelled. Alex then went up to my ear and whispered, "Your father wouldn't like this... he'd be disappointed in you." And walked out. I stood there with wide eyes the whole time. 'He knows my father!? But how?' I scream in my head, wondering if that other voice would respond. But it didn't.
