-Titus-
Time drifted onward and finally The sounds of the morning began to arise as the small beams of morning began to appear just over the horizon.
I looked around, everyone had been up and out with me all night, it seemed we were all anxious to have our Luna back.
I looked at my father and he gave me a tired smile as he nodded and I knew it was him giving me the go ahead to finally retrieve my wife.
I decided to go in my human form as not to startle her wolf.
I wondered if I should wake her upon my arrival and let her know that her time in the forest was over?
Or being a heavy sleeper, perhaps I would just carry her out of the forest and bring her back into the house so that she could wake up in the warmth of our bed, my arms around her as we slept together.
I smiled at the thought as I finally reached the hill.
As happy as I was to reach it I knew I needed to calm down before my excitment woke her through our link.
I carefully drew back the covering that concealed the hill's opening and found it empty.
Panic was beginning to set in and I looked around, everything seemed untouched, the lanterns weren't lit, the blankets still folded, I would have thought she wasn't here at all but her scent always calls to me, and right now it filled this small space...it lingered but it was there.
"She was here, but where would she go?" I wondered out loud.
I stood there and closed my eyes as I reached out for her in our link, no doubt she's feeling at least relieved that it's over."
But there was nothing.
I tried once more and found nothing, I couldn't feel her.
Immediately my worry turned to fury and I shifted without thought, I lifted my head and tried to take in any scents I could...the only scent other than the woodsy scent the forest gave off was hers...both scents I was all too familiar with.
I howled to let them know something was wrong and I inspected the area for anything I could, any evidence...scents, or footprints. But with the snow fall over night our evidence had been taken from us.
I shifted back into myself and put on a pair of the jeans I was wearing, they were more or less still usable, and I grabbed a top before taking off back to the others.
I stepped out of the hollowed hill and (not wearing any shoes anymore) stepped on something sharp.
I looked down and saw something shiny, I picked it up and felt my eyes black out immediately at how pissed i was now, I took care in holding the syringe and ran all the way back out of the forest.
"We heard your howl, what's wrong Alpha?" Evan asked.
"Where's Everest?" Heidi asked on the verge of tears already.
I held up the syringe, "She wasn't in the hill, and we can send out a search party but I know she isn't in this forest."
"Who could've..-"
"We all know damn well who could and would do something as fucked up as this." I shouted cutting my father off.
"Alpha Kirkshaw wouldn't be so stupid." Evan put in
"He would, he wouldn't necessarily do it himself but he is stupid enough to have someone do it for him." I said already pulling out my phone.
I pulled up Victor's number and called it without hesitation, I didn't care about time zones right now, who knew when they took her or how far they'd be by now...one things for sure, if Richard had anything to do with it He'd take her south where I have no real official pull.
"Titus?" Victor answered "My boy what's wrong?"
"Titus? What's happened?" I heard lydia say in the back ground.
I hated that I had to make this call.
"I am coming down immediately, my wife's been taken and I believe she's heading south."
"When did this happen?" He sounded (now on speaker phone)
"I'm not sure, I'll ask around when I reach the airport about any flights but the last time I saw her was yesterday at 7 for the hunt...I hate to admit that i've only just realized she's gone." I confessed shamefully.
"This is not your fault." Lydia suddenly sounded, "I'll call Ashton and tell him what's happened and to keep his eyes and ears open."
"And I'll reach out to my pack as well as all of my allies and get them alerted...trust me Titus, if Everest is anywhere down here we will find her." Victor added determined. Before we ended the conversation.
I spoke a plan of action with my father and Evan, just to be on the safe side I had my men run the forest and town to make sure she wasn't here but as I had thought Richard must've wanted to get her out as quick as possible.
"Go," My father ordered angrily.
We all knew he wasn't angry with us but with the situation at hand..."not only was my beautiful daughter inlaw taken, but also my innocent grandchildren..." he growled as he tried to compose himself.
My gums ached and my wolf was on edge listening to him. I needed to shift but knew I had to keep him at bay until the right time.
"I'll keep half the men here in case something turns up and to keep an eye out for anything that may seem off or may help." He sighed "...you take the other half and head to Victor and Lydia's and please keep me informed of anything, everything son."
My breathing was heavy as I was struggling to keep my wolf within. My words were like a venomous growl, rabid and full of loathing. "If I find him just know I will kill him and every single person involved, I did not start this...but he ignited a war with me the minute he took my family and I will do whatever I have to, to get my revenge."
My father looked at me before he nodded his head once and I was off.
As I murderously stalked away from the house I could feel the old Titus coming back, The aggressive and ruthless Alpha Graystone who showed no mercy. And I smiled a sinister smile to myself as I thought about all the things I was going to do to the bastards who took my wife.
