His word was law and Evan was already making his way to Rich's cage.

"Mercy!" Rich yelled..."Everest promised me mercy!"

I genuinely grew nervous as I heard my name get pulled into this, Titus looked at me but I didn't meet his gaze as I looked straight ahead.

I stepped forward, "This is your mercy, and the only one you will get...My husband has given his order...you will die today, but your son will live...take solace in that."

Titus finally took my hand into his own.

I wanted to smile and let my body melt against his as I close my eyes and let the warmth of our touch fully entangle me...But I held strong and kept up my hardened role.

Just like my Alpha had to be tough I now knew that as his Luna I would have to be just as strong, and tough and make hard decisions to never appear weak, to never again be taken or walked over.

I stood next to him hand in hand as the council members stepped forward now.

"Richard Kirkshaw, Richard Kirkshaw Junior...you have been sentenced to death, Your land and titles will not go to your wives nor will it go to your Son Richard Junior, your familial claim ends with you...instead the lands will go to Vale Kirkshaw, but as he is underage he will need a suitable Alpha Benefactor...in this case we will be having two alpha's mentoring you until you come of age." My father in law announced almost boredly.

Vale nodded his head once to show he had heard them.

Titus lifted my hand and kissed my knuckles.

"My Luna, if you would be so gracious as to accompany our guests upstairs...I'm sure the majority of them must be missing your absence." He smiled a small smile.

I nodded and smiled at him... even though i could still see the underlyig sadness in his eyes I could see he was ready for me to leave...and this time I was also ready.

I had heard his punishment, I didn't need to see it as well.

"Gentlmen." Ttus sounds kindly toward my remaining two brothers now, "thank you for joining us this afternoon, If you'll excuse me...i should be up shortly."

He had polietely dismissed Ash and Vale...He didn't want any of us to have to see our family members killed.

Ash took my hand and helped me up the steps. Vale and the council follwed behind us.

But instead of going into the living room where everyone was awaiting us I went upstairs to my office, My brothers and father in law followed behind me.

When we reached the confines of my office My father in law closed the door behind us and stayed by the door to give my brothers and I a moment to grieve.

despite all of it I couldn't help but cry. Ash and Vale boh stepped in to hug me, together the three of us stood hugging eachother and just letting our tears fall.

When I stepped back I cleared my face of any fallen tears and took a seat on the small sofa, Vale sat down next to me...He rested his head on my shoulder like he always use to before I got married.

Vale was the baby of the family, but more so, not having a mom in his life and Brook and Briar too busy with their friends and then their mates, I was essentially the only mother-like figure he had.

I leaned my head against his and a few tears fell again.

"Hey Evie...it sucks but Dad and Rich we're anything great, hardly family to any of us...My family is you guys and Flora and the baby...-"

"It's not that," I admitted.

I looked at Vale ad then back at Ash.

"He's only a boy Ash...a 14 year old kid...and at 14 he's gonna be incharge of thousands of lives, making decisions that could cause wars, managing the finances for the entire pack, potential rogue attacks...-"

"We wouldn't let anything happen to your brother." My father in law spoke up now. "Given his age and the circumstances surrounding this event we will be asking two Alpha's to look after Vale and the pack, as well as train him up...plus the current pack Beta should also be a big help in this.

I sniffled and nodded.

"Of course being that his only male relation is Ashton and he's in the south he will become one of his Alpha Guardians, and I was thinking of possibly asking our warden to the South Alpha Victor Pruitt."

I smiled, I was glad to hear that Vale wouldn't just be abandoned.

"The paperwork will be drawn up later this evening," My father in law spoke once again but this time to Vale. "Take care to heed you any advice given by your Alpha guardians Vale, so make sure that as an Alpha you take your own path and choose to take your father's mistakes as a learning opportunities."

After that we all went downstairs to join the others. I was glad to see that a mojority of the the pack had gone about their day so all that remained were family and the two other council members.

My mother pulled Ash and I into a hug before she reached out and also pulled Vale into the same hug.

It was Lydia's biggest gift, she had a huge heart, I left the three of them as Victor came over and I knew Ash would fill them in.

I found Phyllis and she smiled as I approached her.

"Phyllis, thank you so much for everything you do."

"It is a pleasure and an Honor My Lady." She sounded sweetly.

Just then we watched as Titus exited the basement alongside Evan.

Evan walked throught the living room and out the back doors, before he came back in with four more guys. Titus on the otherhand had made his way up the stairs.

Judging by Evan's bloody clothes and the urgency on his face I knew it was done...Dad and Rich were dead.

The council members walked out of the downstairs office with My step mother and sister in law, Richie was still crying. They were being ushered out the front door. No doubt they'd be sent back to their homes...my step-mother would no doubt have to collect her belongings and clear out though.

"Hey..." Victor sounded, breaking the silent and tension in the room "Why don't we all goout to dinner, Ashton...Fiona, Vale...Heidi you in?"

Heidi smiled at her uncle and nodded.

"Phyllis will you join us." Lydia asked, Nico had his arm around moms shoulders casually.

"Oh," She tried to protest.

"Go Phyllis, you deserve a night out." I urged with a smile.

She thanked me but I assured her it was nothing. I watched as they all took off for the evening and soon enough I was alone in the lvinging room.

I've never been here alone, it felt so empty.

I saw the guys standing just outside of basement.

"Evan...a word?"

He moved to join me.

"Is everything done downstairs?"

"Yes Luna Graystone." He said

"And what of the...remains?" I asked carefully.

He shook his head, "Alpha Graystone hasn't given us our orders yet My Lady."

I nodded.

I sighed, "collect what's left and dispose of the remnants as you see fit, please have the men clean up, I don't want this to weigh my husband down any further than it already is...after that's done please go home to your families."

"Yes Luna Graystone."

"And Evan...Thank You."

He nodded before turning to give the men his orders and I left them to it as I went up to the bedroom.c
