= Rey's POV =

As Kylo lead me out of my cell and past the long hallway of other prisoners, I thought about Finn, Poe and Rose. Where were they? I couldn't be seen talking with Kylo, so I asked him in my head.

Where's Finn, Poe and Rose?

I saw his head twitch and he looked back at me. They're fine. They're in this corridor where everyone else is.

We continued walking until he took a left at the end of the hallway, then a right and another right. He stopped in front of a large door and put his hand up to a scanner, similar to the one outside my dorm room.

He opened it up and took me inside. It was like a small house. It had a living room and kitchen, and multiple doors leading to other places. I never thought the First Order could be so... normal.

"This is my room," Kylo said, walking behind me to un-cuff me. His warm hands touching mine sent a strange sensation through my mind.

"Well... it's more like a house," I said, turning to look at him after he un-cuffed me. The proximity between us was almost non-existent.

"You could say that," he said, and stepped back.

I cleared my throat and stepped back as well, walking towards a chair to sit down on. "What do you want to talk about?" I asked.

He looked down and opened his mouth as if to say something, but closed it and sat on a chair next to me. After he regathered himself, he looked up at me.

"I spoke with my mother for the first time in years today," he whispered, looking down yet again, as if he were insecure.

I laughed to myself. "So you're a mama's boy, are you?" He didn't reply, his face just had the same insecure look.

"Well," I began, filling in the silence, "is that a good thing that you spoke to her? I know that she would always talk about you, and she was practically dying for you to talk to her."

He gulped and looked back up at me. "Yes, of course it's a good thing. We spoke continuously for hours." He stopped talking. I could tell he wasn't finished.

"Well?"

"Well, she asked me to do something for her Rey," he said aggressively. "Something that I'm not so sure I can do, but I promised her I would, in her honour."

The room fell silent again. "What did she ask of you?" I questioned.

= Kylo's POV =

I gulped and stared into her eyes, thinking of how to say it. How to say that my mother says I love her, and that I should go after her. I decided to put it as bluntly as possible.

"Sh-she said that I love you," I whispered, and looked directly down at the ground. I could feel her eyes widen and stare at me demanding more information.

"What?" she questioned, almost in a tone of disgust. "She said what?"

"She said that I love you, okay?" I yelled, standing up and walking over to the kitchen counter, leaning on it and facing away from her. "She told me to fight for you, to go after you."

She scoffed sharply and stood up. "You just kidnapped the entire resistance, and you're dropping a bombshell that you love me, right afterwards?"

"Believe me," I said, "it's not ideal or convenient for me either."

"Convenience? " she yelled, "Do you really think this is about convenience? This is about the fact that you kidnapped me, and all of my friends!"

I sighed and slumped over the counter, waiting for her to slap me or something, but instead she too, exhaled sharply.

"Which, is why, this is going to sound complete, and utterly selfish, but... in a way I'm kind of glad you told me... despite everything that's going on around us."

I turned around immediately and faced her, feeling a sudden burst of emotions rushing through me; relief, excitement, confusion... but what I really felt was compassion. Compassion for this strange and annoying woman who might feel the same way for me.

"What?" I asked, moving closer to her.

Her heart rate increased and she smiled slightly. "Hey, don't get your hopes up! I'm not saying anything for now... if anything I actually have no idea of what to say. I'd just like to work out what's happening with the Resistance for now."
