[AIZAWA'S P.O.V.]

"Shouta? Was that your friend?" My mother shouted from a distance.

"No." I said with a disgruntled tone.

"Hey, Shouta!! Open up!!" Hizashi yelled.

"No!" I yelled back.

"Are you still angry about earlier?! I was just playing with you!" He yelled. "Come on, Shouta, don't be like this!"

I bit my lip in frustration. Not only did you embarrass me at school, you just had to show up now, didn't you? "Hizashi, not now."

"Open up!!" He yelled.

"Would you stop yelling!?" I raised my voice.

A moment of silence came. It was sort of relieving. I took a deep breath and exhaled. "Look, I'm not that mad or anything, just, I don't want to talk right now, okay?"

"Not that mad??" He said "You didn't reply to my messages or answer my calls! And you slammed the door in my face!"

"It's none of your business to decide what I should or shouldn't do." I said. Finally I looked at my phone to see a bunch of notifications and missed calls from him. It gives me a slight hint of satisfaction being able to ignore him to this point.

"You only read, like, two of my messages!" He said "Then, you didn't reply or even read the next ones. And here you are saying you're not that mad!"

I snickered quietly enough that he probably couldn't hear it. "You know how crushed I am by that now!" He said

"Well, you deserve it, stink-brain. I'm not opening this door, so you might as well leave." I said tauntingly.

Another moment of silence passed. It was.. suspicious.

Did he actually leave? Wow, I didn't think he would actually listen to me. This was almost too good to be true.

Before opening the door to give him any chances to catch me off guard, I decided to do the strategic thing and dialed his number.

Not long after that, his ringtone sounded itself. I chuckled at his carelessness. I opened the window beside my front door to see him crouching under it.

"Did you really think I'd fall for your childish tricks, Hizashi--"

Before I could finish, he leaped towards me and we both stumbled back into my house with a yelp. "Agh!!"

I didn't hit the floor too hard so it didn't really hurt. But still, it was displeasing to open my eyes to see a very familiar figure on top of me.

"Well played." I said

"I learned from the best." He replied with the same goofy grin he's had for as long as I'd known him as he got off of me.

He helped me up. I was reluctant to grab his hand, but I figured that it'd be best not to provoke him any further than I already did.

When we both got to our feet, I uttered to him "So?"

We stared at each other for a moment. "So... what?" He asked

I sighed as I rolled my eyes. "Aren't you going to apologize?"

He broke into laughter. "Apologize?! Jeez, you really are something! A minute ago, you were all like 'I'm not mad' and now here you are, asking for an apology! HahahAHAHAH!"

My face burned as I realized that. I tried to say something but I choked on my words so I decided to just keep quiet. I averted my gaze from him.

Not long after that, his laughter faded. "Aw, Shouta, you're still upset? What do you want me to do? Give you a hug? Here!" He said as he gave me an embrace. Huh.. He's warm.

"Apologize properly, dimwit." I said

"Alright, then." He said, not releasing me from his embrace. "I apologize"

We were both silent.

"..That's it?" I asked

"Huh? Isn't that how it's supposed to be?" He said, grabbing my upper arms and pushing me a bit back. "How do you even apologize correctly?"

"Easy." I grinned. "Get on your knees and apologize deeply and humbly, admitting your mistakes."

"What!! I don't think what I did was even worth that much of an apology!!!" He shouted

"Well, if you're not gonna apologize then you might as well leave. I've got things to do and places to be, you know?" I sneered at him, satisfied.

He grinned and grabbed my hand. Then, he got down on one knee. This very much confused me, that words couldn't even come out.

"Aizawa Shouta, I apologize for causing a commotion this morning at school, thus embarrassing you while I was at it. I am deeply and truly sorry. Will you ever forgive me?" He put on a serious face while uttering that last part in English.

I thought it was kinda cool.. But still.

"I'm sorry, I don't understand English." I said

"WHATT!?!?!?!" He yelled "Shouta, you can't be serious!!!"

I chuckled at his reaction. "Yeah, yeah, I forgive you, Hizashi."

He let out a sigh of relief. "Damn it, Shouta, you almost gave me a freakin' heart attack."

"From what?" I asked

"You had me worried there for a second. I really thought you couldn't understand that last phrase back there." He said.

"What? Do you really think I'm that dumb?" I scoffed

"Well, I really shouldn't be that surprised. You did get into the A class 3 years in a row now." He nervously scratched his head.

"I did learn from the best." I smiled.

His face went a bit red as he hugged me again. "Shouta, you're my best friend ever!!"

"Gross." I laughed.

"Boys, I'd hate to disrupt your moment, but Shouta, I need you to go pick up some stuff, remember?" My mother yelled from the kitchen

"Oh, yeah. I'll get to it right away, mom." I yelled back.

"Ask Hizashi if he wants to stay for dinner." she said

"Would I?!!" He shouted cheerfully. He turned to me with his puppy dog eyes, practically begging 'Please let me stay for dinner' over and over again, I could almost hear it.

"Sure, whatever." I said with a sigh

He cheered loudly, seeming overjoyed by it. It's just dinner, how excited are you for it?

I went to the grocery store with him, and we had dinner together later that evening. And through it all, his face never seemed to have another expression besides utmost happiness.

What a strange way to start our senior year.
