Crutchie?

Brooklyn's POV

I heard a big thud and a groan. Our director calls a hold and everyone below runs to see that happened.

"What happened?!"I  yelled. But no one heard me. All I hear is "Someone call an ambulance!"

"What the freaking heck is going on?!" I yelled.

"It's Nick!" Ben, and Josh both replied. My heart stopped and I ran down and over to where Nick was. He was laying on the floor while clutching his right leg. I went over and knelt on the ground while putting one hand on his cheek and the other on his shoulder.

"Nick, listen to me. You're gonna be fine, alright."

He cried out in pain as he said, "It hurts."

"I know," I replied. I remembered when this happening to me. It feels like it's burning hotter than the sun and you can't move at all. "Nicky, listen to me. I know it burns, but you have to remember to breath."

"Easier said than done," He replied in a grunt.

"Hey, this happened to me way before it happened to you. Just breathed, you're gonna be fine Nicky, you're gonna be fine."

"We got here as fast as we could!" Sky said as he ran in with Ben, Josh, and Chaz

"You ok?" Ben asked rubbing my shoulder.

"I don't know," I replied quietly. "I know what it's like to fall and break a leg on stage but...it's still scary ya know." I sighed then asked, "Who's filling in for Nick?"

"No idea," Josh replied. I nodded. I knew pretty much all our swings are out sick, and there the show would most likely be re-blocked without Nick. But still. Every Newsie, leading or back round brings something to the show, and it's not the same if one is missing.

"It won't be the same without Nick," Chaz said, and we all agreed.

"Yeah, but I'm sure we'll figure something out," Sky said as he looked at me with a smirk. Now, we've only been together for a short time, but I know when the wheels in his head are turning. Before I could say anything a nurse walked into the waiting room and said, "Brooklyn Masson?"

"Right here!" I exclaimed while putting my hand in the air.

The nurse smiled and said, "He hasn't stopped asking for you, you can go in now. But one at a time," she said when she saw five boys with me. I nodded and she walked away.

Sky placed his hand on my shoulder and quickly kissed my cheek. "Go on, we'll be in a few minutes." I nodded before going into the room.

"Hey Nicky," I said as I slowly walked into the hospital room. His leg was in a cast that was being held up with who knows what. "How're you feeling?" I asked standing next to the bed.

"Let's see," he replied then thought for a moment then said, "My leg itches like no tomorrow."

"In other words you're gonna live," I said with a small laugh. "But in all seriousness I'm gonna miss having you on stage, it won't be the same."

"Bright side I'll be better in a few weeks. Downside is I have to use crutches."

"Hey, maybe you could fill in for Crutchie," I said with a big smile, and we both laughed.

"Speaking of filling in, do you know who's filling in for me?" He asked, I shook my head.

"All the swings are out sick. Talk about a lousy timing, huh." I explained.

"Well, not all the swings are sick," he said with that look that he did before he got in trouble.

"Ok, my twin sense is going off. What did you do Nicholas?"

"Nothing, Brooklyn," he said with his most innocent baby face. Now I really knew something was up. "Just that..." I knew it. He probably did something illegal and I'll have to bust him out of jail. Just like that time he ended up in mall jail for swimming in the water fountain when were ten. "You're the one who's filling in for me till I get better."

"How much is the-wait, what did you say because I'm pretty sure I just heard you say that I'm filling in for you."

"Yup. what? Did you think that I did something illegal?" he asked with a laugh.

"Yeah, kinda," I admitted. "But that's not the point. The point is, how the heck did I ended up doing your role?!" I yelled. I wasn't sure if I was shocked or excited, but all I knew was that I was filling in for Nick. I mean sure, we're twins, but won't people noticed the differences?

"It's a long story, but you're doing it. And you need to be in the theater now to learn your new track." as soon as Nick said this Bed, Josh, Sky, and Chaz literally came running in.

Ben and Chaz were on either side of my and grabbed my upper arms and started pulling my while Josh pushed my back and I heard Sky said, "Don't worry, we'll take good care of her."
