Brooklyn's POV
Well, long story short, Sky and I have been dating for about a week, Nick is really cool with it, which I find a little weird, but that's not the point right now, that's not the point, the point is well...you'll find out in a few seconds.
"Brook, you're freaking out over nothing," Melissa said as she watched me dig though my suitcase.
"Should I go with the boots or the flats?" I asked while holding up two different pairs of shoes.
"What does it matter?" Melissa asked.
"Because, the boots make me taller, but the flats are fun sized," I replied. Long story short, I was about to go on my first real date and maybe I was freaking out over nothing, or maybe I wasn't.
While that was going on I still couldn't believe that Nick is ok with this, I could've sworn that he would've had some short of melt down, or would give me a long talk about what to do and what not to do.
Nick's POV
"She's going out on a date, my baby sister is going out on a date, my little sister is dating," I said as I walked back and fourth in front of Jorden, Josh and Ben. "How does this make any sense? I mean what happened to the little girl who just wanted to dace? And why did I say it was ok for any of this to happen? She's only a baby, she shouldn't be-."
"You're dating her best friend," They all cut off.
"Maybe this is a bad dream."
"Or maybe you're freaking out over nothing," Josh mumbled.
"This is my baby sister we're talking about, who's going out with a guy that's like ten times older than she is!"
"Actually they're only a year apart," Jorden pointed out.
"Um, actually it's two years till August," Ben corrected.
"But if you think about it Sky is ten times taller than Brook," Jorden added. Josh and Ben nodded in agreement.
"Who cares who's older or taller?!" I yelled. "The point is that Brook should not be dating. Why did I even say I was ok with it. What was I thinking?!"
"Because she told you right away and that she would do it if you were ok with it or not," Josh reminded.
"And because you're a good brother," Ben added.
"Forget about being a good brother this is the baby of the family we're talking about."
"You're dating her best friend!" they all yelled again. Before I could say anything else there was a soft knock on the door. I went to go open it and then I saw Brook. And I wasn't sure what it was but something inside me soften when I saw her.
She was wearing light grey mini boots, a light grey skirt that was just above her knees a light blue shirt cold shoulder short sleeve shirt and a dark jean jacket. Her hair was in soft waves and she had very light makeup. She smelled like vanilla, aka her favorite sent. And to finish off the look was the necklace I got her when she turned sixteen, that had a sliver and blue butterfly.
She had her hands folded behind her back, while biting her lip and looking at me with those big, bright eyes. It was a look I knew all too well. It was the one she wore after she put on her costume for a dance competition. I remembered when she came out of what ever was used for privacy in the dressing room she would always go right up to me with this look. I missed seeing her in the studio, or in her room or on stage dancing till she could do the dance in her sleep.
"Well?" she asked quietly. I smiled and brushed away a lose lock of her hair that had fallen in front of her face. "You look beautiful." she smiled then I took her hand and brought her into the room.
"Looking good Brooky," Ben said, and she smiled even more. "Sky's gonna have a heart attack when he sees you."
"Let's hope so," I mumbled. Brook then nudged me in the side. Why this girl has such sharp elbows, I'll never know.
"Don't jinx!" Brook said.
"So, where's this date of yours?" I asked while crossing my arms.
"A simple dinner," she replied, while sounding a bit annoyed. "And before you ask, we'll be back at eleven, depending on the traffic."
"You know it's not to late to-" Everyone then yelled that I was dating Dylan, aka Brook's bestie since forever. I'm pretty sure I'll never live that one down. I didn't like the fact the Brook is now dating.
"So, any last minute advice?" she asked. I sighed as I looked at her
"If I'm being honest I don't like the fact that you're dating now." she was about to say something, but I stopped her. "But as I'm looking at you now it hit me. You're almost eighteen; what happened to the little girl who didn't know her left from her right? She grew into an amazing dancer and a even more amazing young woman. I couldn't be more prouder. So once you go out with that loser just remember to be yourself, have fun, but not too much fun, and remember that I love you."
She smiled, then hugged me tightly and said, "I'll always your little sister."
"Aww," Jorden, Josh and Ben said. Shoot, I forgot they were here. Just then there was a knock on the door. I let Brook go to open and well...it's time for protective big brother mood. But before that could happen Brook stopped me.
"Hey Sky," she quickly said. Ok after that I kinda blacked out a bit, but then I gave Sky a few warnings before they left for their date.
Brooklyn's POV
We went to this cute little restaurant, with outdoor seating. We took an outside table since it was a nice night. The tables were black square with round edges with matching chairs. twinkle lights around the fence and plants that made it a bit more privet. Lights were also above and around the canopy.
"So, you like this place?" Sky asked. He had a nice white button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up a bit, nice jeans (without holes) and sneakers. He cleaned up pretty nice. Way different from what I would usually see him in, but it was a good different.
"Love it," I replied. "But not as much as I love you." I blushed; when I glanced up he had that cute smile. The one that's going to be the end of me. I know I say that a lot but c'mon people, he really does have a cute smile.
"You're cute when you get like that," he said with a smile and this look in his eyes.
"Like what?" I have no idea what he was talking about, but it was cute. Ok, I think I'm saying 'cute' too much, I'll try to stop now.
"When you look away before glancing up again. You blush and get the smallest smile on your face." I must've done it again because he then said, "See, you're doing it again." We ended up talking about a whole lot of stuff, dance, touring, what we like to do for fun and stuff like that.
It was so nice to be on a real date, one where Nick wasn't watching at a short distance. At least I think he isn't. I'm still surprised that he let this happen. But that's the last thing on my mind right now. Right now I'm enjoying this date.
The next day
"So," Nick said as he walked up to me as I waited for the elevator to come. "How was your date?" looked at him weirdly. You know what? I bet he's trying to find dirt so he can give me a reason to break up with Sky.
"Can't a brother ask how his baby sister's date was?" he asked.
"You didn't follow me?" I asked in shock. That would be a first. Every time I'm alone with a boy he freaks out and follows me like a lost puppy.
"Brook, you're almost eighteen, I think it's about time I started trusting you to make you're own choices. But that doesn't mean if something happens I wouldn't go big brother mood."
I laughed and shook me head. "If you must know it was amazing."
He smiled and then wrapped his arm around me before saying, "Anything bad happens-"
"Nick!" I yelled while shoving him. "I love you and all but sometimes you're really annoying!"
