Song is "I Hate Everything About You" By Three Days Grace.
For some reason, every time I listen to it, the first thing I think about is: "When your dog eats your laptop charger."

4 months later-
I stirred, eyes cracking open groggily. I sat up, rubbing the sleep out of them before sliding out of bed. My bandages were off, and my legs and arms appeared flawless once again. As if nothing had happened 4 months ago. My heart ached for home, but I knew I couldn't go back now. It was only a few months after I was supposed to return to Diana's Peak. Right now, I would assume my mother would begin panicking over her missing heir.
I shuffled to the bathroom, staring myself down in the mirror before splashing water on my face and brushing out my long hair. I spent a few more minutes attending to my daily needs. The toilet, shower, and stretches.
Ever since I got here, me and Xander had become friends. If you could even call it that. I've been rumored in the pack to be the "Elf-Vampire." I assumed that word of my father's identity has spread. One of the other reasons I would rather not return to the south.
A knock on my door broke the silence that I had started to be accustomed to. I walked over to it and opened the door, revealing Xander with two plates of breakfast. "Let's eat in here today." He suggested, and I stepped out of the doorway to let him in. I had put in a small table and chairs in the empty space, along with a few couches. He set the two plates on the table and looked over to me as I closed the door and started walking over to him. "Have you heard the new rumor about us yet? It's a good one." He smiled goofily. "Oh, Goddess. What's it this time?" I grinned, sitting in the chair with my plate before it. Xander sat down adjacent to me. "Apparently, they think that we plan on marrying. I don't know how, exactly, they got that from." He chuckled, and I struggled to hold in my laugh. "First it was that I was conquering the werewolf region, and now this." I laughed, Xander chuckling along with me. "It's the same thing, right?" He said in between laughs.
We talked and ate for a good hour until he had to leave for a pack meeting. I was left alone to my thoughts once again. To let them consume me once again, as they have these past few months. I almost have nothing new to think about anymore. I didn't get any news from the south, so I didn't know what my disappearance might've caused. I wouldn't know.
Walking to my filled bookshelf, I pulled out a novel.

I don't think that everyone has a certain purpose. Some people, they have to do what they want to, without a purpose. Others know exactly what it is, and rebel against it. But the rest just go along with it. I was apart of the ones that just goes along with it, but, over the last few months, I have rebelled against it. I've changed for the worse.

For the first time in hours, I walked out of my room, in search for something else to do. To my luck, the art storage closet wasn't locked at this time of day. I grabbed a bag of paints and brushes, two canvases, an apron, and a lightweight easel. It was a challenge, but I managed to bring it all to the edge of the woods. I set all of it up, and put on the apron so I wouldn't get any paint on my clothes. I studied my surroundings before dipping my brush in paint, and putting it to the canvas.

I closed my paints and set all of my brushes in the bag before leaving my finished painting to dry overnight. Then I planned on coming back out here and finishing it after breakfast tomorrow morning. Xander should be finished with his meeting by now, and would be able to join me for lunch. I walked back into the castle, making my way back to my room. I got a few looks from the servants that I passed, and I just bit the inside of my cheek as I got closer to my goal. Hopefully, Xander would be waiting. Not anybody other than him. I shivered as I walked down my hallway. I spotted Xander leaning against my door, but he didn't have his usual grin on his face. He looked solemn.
"...Xander... What happened during that meeting..?" I asked as I got closer to him. "You're mother was there, Feiye. She said that she wanted her daughter back at all costs, and if someone found her that whoever brought you to her would have an unbreakable alliance to the elves through marriage." He met my gaze. I stared at him, shock rising to the surface. "What?" I whispered. Xander pursed his lips. "She doesn't know that you're here, and I don't plan on telling her. But, I feel like someone else would take up on selling you out to her. I'm getting you out of here. Tonight." He walked over to me and took my face in his hands. "If someone starts coming after you, I'll bring you to her myself and marry you so nobody else would." He said, meeting my eyes with an intense gaze. I wrapped my arms around him, sobs racking my body. My tears soaked his t-shirt, but he didn't care. He just held me and did his best to soothe my breaking heart.
All my life, my mother didn't care about me. I hated every aspect of her. She never did anything but raise me into the next queen. She acted as though I was just the heir to the throne instead of her daughter. I didn't ever have a motherly figure. And, after all of these years, she suddenly says that she cares about me enough to go to the werewolves and do that? She is only my mother by blood.
Nothing would ever get me to love her.
