I gripped the arms of my throne, as the group approached the dais. I resisted the urge to leave.A group of vampires had been allowed into the queendom. The bloodsucker in front I recognised as the Crown Prince of Ordan. Aidan. Only a century ago, vampires had been enslaving the elves.
He bowed deeply, and I could feel the distaste radiating from my mother. She may be terrible, but she hated the vampires as much as I did. As any rational elf would.
Queen Isabelle ordered him to rise. "Why have you come here, vampire?" She snarled. He kept his face blank, but I could tell he could hear the disgust in her voice. "I heard of your daughter's crowning, and my kingdom has an offer in exchange for her hand in marriage." He declared, and shock rose to my throat. "What is the offer?" My mother asked, her greed rising to the surface. "An alliance. My kingdom and your queendom would share their riches and forces for as long as it is allowed." Aidan looked to me, but I was staring at my mother, even if I wasn't that shocked that she would sell me off.
"I will consider, and, until I do, you can take her to your kingdom for three weeks, to see if she'd be able to fit in well there." My mother smiled wickedly.
I stared at her in shock before it turned into anger. I slid off of the throne, striding out of that blasted room, down the hallway to my room, slamming the bedroom door behind me.
I cursed my mother for being like this. She always let money come before anything else. I walked to my dresser, putting my armour on the rack before changing into an evening gown, which was white with blue accents. I slid on some comfortable flats before leaving the room, making my way to the garden.
The natural scenery always calmed me. The white roses, the cherry trees, and the stone paths. I sat on a sturdy branch of a cherry tree, head leaned on the bark. I had been there for a little past an hour when I was pulled out of my slumber. "Come with me, Your Highness. It's time to leave for the Kingdom of Ordan." A sweet voice called from below.
I ran a hand along the branch, as if it was my last time seeing it. After a second, I jumped off of it, landing on the stone pathway. "Follow me, Highness." The servant said, and I obeyed, knowing there was no way out of this.
The group of bloodsuckers were at the gates, all, other than the prince, on horses. I didn't see my mount. Looking back at the servant, she gestured to Aidan. I clenched my teeth before walking over to him. He grinned at me before mounting, holding his hands out to me. I pushed down my anger, gripping his arms on both sides. He pulled me in front of him, taking the reins. I contemplated how this could've happened, what I could've don't to avoid this. I found nothing. "I didn't catch your name." Aidan looked down at me. "My name is Feiye." I answered blatantly. "You have a beautiful name." He whispered, catching me by surprise.
"My father gave it to me." I looked down at my hands, clenching them into fists. We didn't talk much for the rest of the trip.

Aidan helped me off of the horse, while a stable boy led it away. "You okay?" He met my eyes, and I nodded. He furrowed his eyebrows at the response, by didn't say anything. As we approached the castle doors, two guards pulled them open. "Welcome to Ordan." He leaned down and whispered in my ear, and I flinched away. He didn't respond to that, either. Aidan led me into a grand hallway, leading me into one of the branching halls. "I'll order you some food, you must be hungry after the trip." He opened one of the doors, which led into a sitting room. "You will be staying with me, so there wouldn't be any rouges trying to get at you." He explained, walking into the room after me.
It was magnificent, even to my standards. Plush red couches sat along one wall, while a bar sat along the other wall. A glass table sat in the centre, with a grand chandelier hanging over it. It took a second for my eyes to adjust to the lighting. "What would you like to eat?" Aidan asked from behind me. I turned to him. "Some fruit, if possible." I grinned sheepishly at my unusual choice. Any other day, I would choose grilled vixen, but I didn't think that was very popular here. He nodded. "Make yourself at home. I'm going to to be a few minutes. There's a selection of clothes in the closet." He smiled at me before he left.
I didn't dare question how he would get clothes for me. I just wanted to get the dress off. I opened the door to the bedroom, and didn't look at much of it before going into the closet. A section of it was filled with nightgowns, underclothes, shirts, shorts, pants, and dresses. I went straight to the shirts, pulled out a t-shirt and pulling out a pair of shorts. I tugged off the dress, putting it on an empty dress figure. I didn't take long before pulling on the shirt and shorts. I pulled my dark hair into a braid, and walked back into the sitting room, where Aidan was already sitting down, plate of fruit on the glass coffee table. I sat down beside him, plucking one of the grapes off its vine and plopping it into my mouth.
"You're not very close with your mother, are you, Feiye?" He asked me. I scowled. "Not at all." I answered, taking a bite out of an apple. "It's getting late, and I'm sure you're sleepy. I'll put this in the fridge and you can get into bed while I change." He stood. "Wait— we'll be sharing a bed?" I blinked. "I won't touch you unless you ask me to, so you'll be fine." He picked up the plate, and walked to the bar. I sighed and stood, walking to the bedroom and claiming the left side.
He came in and walked to the closet. I burrowed into the blankets, face nearly smothered in the blanket. I drifted off to sleep, and the mattress dipped as Aidan got in.
What has my life come to?
