Song is "Wait On Me" by Rixton. (The same music that is played by the humans, but with a female voice featured in it.)

We emerged from the woods, and all of my anxiety was taken away at the sight before me. There was male and female voices that carried over a crowd, all appearing young, about my age. I looked at Xander, and he grimaced. "I forgot about this ceremony... it's where all of the new-adult villagers are required to go to a party, where they dance and get to know each other. So they can get a few out of their shells and find a easy way to form bonds." He explained, a sigh escaping his throat. One of the partygoers noticed our presence. He started at me for a few seconds before turning to his group of friends, gesturing to me. I started to back away.

Xander chuckled at my suffering. "I'll work on blending in, since you're about to be occupied." He smirked, striding away. I bit back my retort, rubbing my temples before easing into a mask. I took a step closer to the crowd, where one of the humans approached me, making himself the only person I could see. "Hello, beautiful." A grin was plastered on his face, brightening his baby blue eyes. I looked up so I could meet his gaze. "I assume this is how you greet every girl?" I returned his grin with my smirk. He kept on grinning at me. "Care to give me a name? I'm Stephen." Stephen kept his gaze trained on me. "Feiye." I gave him my name, and he blinked before regaining his confidence once again. "Does the beautiful Feiye want to follow me?" He held out a hand expectingly. "Why not?" I took his hand, throwing caution to the wind.

He led me into the crowd, to where his group of friends waited. One look at them and I realised that I had made a grave mistake. One of the girls strode up to me, her brown eyes narrowed. "Care to tell where you came from?" A sickening accent clung to her voice. I stood my ground, cursing Xander for leaving me. "Frankly, it's none of your business." I narrowed my own eyes. "How about you explain this?" She gestured to my face and physique. I started backing away slowly. "No human in this village looks anything close to you. So, you're either some sort of supernatural being, or... you can just be a blessed woman. Deus forbid that you're some sort of goddess." She mocked, evoking a growl from me. I started turning away, searching the crowd for Xander. He was far away, brows drawn as he surveyed me. I sent a pleading look in his direction, snapping him out of his trance and causing him to start striding over to me. The girl jerked on my arm. "Don't ignore me." She barked. I was coming close to my snapping point. "I just did, and I will continue doing so." I raised an eyebrow, challenging. She glared daggers at me, ready to challenge back. "Devon... I think that she's done..." One of the guy's spoke up, cautiously easing her away.

At that time, her expression turned into pure awe as she looked at something behind me. I assumed it was Xander, and looked back at him. He smirked, wrapping his arm around my torso and pulling me close to him. "If you don't mind, I'm afraid that it's my turn." He purred, whisking me off. "I don't hear a 'thank you.'" He kept his arm resting on my hip. "Oh, thank you, my saviour." I remarked, feeling the weight of many gazes on my retreating back. "I feel so special. You're welcome, little flower." Xander bowed slightly.

"I would've never thought that I would be this far away from home." I shivered once we got far enough away from the stares. "Sometimes, that's exactly what forms us into better leaders. By knowing that you've explored far enough away from your realm before it becomes your first priority." He squeezed me tighter. "And your pack isn't your first priority?" I looked up so I could see his face. "No. I haven't matured enough for that to take place, unfortunately." A smile formed on that face as he looked down at me. "It seems my parents have that same trait, unfortunately." I mumbled, looking away. He shifted from beside me. "Unfortunate, indeed. If I was them, I would do everything in my power to raise you well. With a full family instead of the split deal. Very, very unfortunate for them both." He whispered, his gaze still fixed on me.

"We should find a place to stay pretty soon, don't you think?" I changed the subject hurriedly. He nodded. "Yes. That would be ideal, but I've already gotten it taken care of." He said proudly. I felt my own pride towards him. "And you said you weren't mature."
