Ghost Pack

chapter 15

Maggie's POV

my body snapped forward in my bed and was drenched in sweat. The nightmare still fresh in my mind. This nightmare wasn't about the past... No this one.. This one was about the future. About my people being killed. I don't know why I had a dream of them dying. But in all honesty it scared me. There are few things in this world that scare me, and losing my people at the hands of that disgusting creature is at the top of my list.

I looked at my clock and remembered today was the first day of school. it is currently 5 in the morning. A hour before everyone wakes up for training, two hours before they have to get ready for school and two and a half hours before we have to leave. The house is utterly quiet and the only sounds are the faint snoring and breathing, and that's with my wolf hearing.

I got out of my comfy bed and went to the shower. I guess I might as well get in extra training since I'm already up. Once in the shower I washed all the sweat and grim from the nightmare off my body. I watched as it all went down the drain and quickly finished washing and conditioning my hair, along with washing my body. Once I was done I wrapped a towel around my body and brushed my teeth and then my hair. I walked through my bedroom and to my closet and grabbed leggings and a sports bra, along with a lose tank and trainers. Having a piece of toast for breakfast I walked outside and started running. After about 15 miles, I went back to the house and went to the gym I had in one of the outside building on the property. I went straight to the punching bags and let all my anger and worry from the nightmare out. I got so lost in thinking about the nightmare I didn't realize someone had came in and was watching me. It didn't hit me till a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me away from the bag. In the moment of shock the attacker got me a good distance away and right before I fought back they sat me down on one of the benches on the wall.

I looked up and saw Kyle.. relief flooded my body. "Why did you drag me away?! I wasn't finished!" I yelled. Kyle leaned back slightly at my sudden outburst but quickly covered it with a glare from hell thinking he was intimidating me. "Don't you dare talk to your alpha like that." He said in a deadly voice. He has no idea what he's' getting into. I have heard his story, from his parents and him. But he had no idea what mine is. Then he did something I thought he would never do.

... He brought his hand up to the side of his face and brought it down, slapping me across the face. I quickly recovered and noticed that over half the pack was watching us. I couldn't show them fear or hurt right now. They were all starring at Kyle in horror, "Training outside now." I said calmly. "Alpha?" Anna, a little girl, asked while everyone was turning to leave. Once she spoke everyone froze. they turned their head and looked between Kyle and Anna. Out of no where Ana took off crying and I looked back up at Kyle and he was glaring and bearing his teeth at her retreating form.

Everyone was looking at Kyle with faces of horror. "Go to the field and start warming up, ill be there in a bit." I said with authority. I watched as everyone went outside and broke into a slow jog. once they were out of sight I closed the door and turned to Kyle. "What was that?" I asked him in a soft tone, trying to control my anger towards him. "Exactly what it looked like you bitch." He seethed. I couldn't do it, I would for sure kill him, mate or not. Hell according to moon I have several I can choose from.

I could hear the pack in the pack mind link saying how they didn't like this new side of him and that if he was going to act like that then they didn't want him being alpha. I don't think they knew I could hear but I knew for a fact he couldn't otherwise he would probably be outside hitting people.

Instead of leaving like I know I should have we kept arguing, luckily Julian and Connor took over and helped with training. I was inside the gym arguing and fighting with Kyle till the alarm on my watch went off signaling for us to get ready for school. I turned and started walking to the door, just as my hand touched the doorknob I turned my head sideways and over my should I said, "I am in the right mind to reject you and make you step down as Alpha. This is MY pack, and I will not have a abusive, mean, and utterly stupid alpha by my side." With that I walked out and went to the training grounds.
