chapter 22

Maggie's POV
   I had ate about half of my dinner when a mindlink called for intruders at the border. Like why the hell did everything have to happen tonight! Of all nights why the night where I have guests. First a fight with one of my drunk members, then rogues asking to be apart of the pack, and now this. Like seriously???
   I made my way downstairs into the dinning room and started ordering people around. "Warriors up an ready! Women grab the children and get into a safe room! Children follow the women. Teenagers go with the women and children!" "Mason, Macy. Hold on."Hey im sorry but please follow these kids. We have a situation I would rather not have another alpha involved in." I said towards Alex's parents, mazani and himself. His parents left with Mason and Macy but the mazani spoke. "We are going with you." Annoyance spread through my body but as fast as it came is disipated. "Fine" I stated and walked off. We ran through the trees and to the boarder. We were a few feet away when a familar scent made its way through my nose. Kyle. I skidded to a stop and fell on my ass. Why is he here? Anger, hate, and fear for my pack, Mazani, and... My mate. Ran through my body. As i starred at Kyle. "Leave now and we will spare you." Connor said. Kyle stepped out of the shaddows and we could clearly see him. "Not without my men!" He demanded. "They must die! We demand that you turn them over now! Or we will use force." Kyle demanded. "No." My voice came out as not my own. It sounded as if the mood goddess had came down and spoke through me.
"Kyle I will end your life and will make your father watch." I stated. Within second the men I summoned to bring the rogues appeared. "So you did bring my men. Give them now." He went to grab one of the guys but I stepped infront of him. Alex stepped beside me and a deep growl erupted from his chest.
Pain covered Kyle's features. "You're her other mate.. Watch out she might reject you as well." He said. Before more could be said I spoke. "You will not take these men. They will not be forced. And remember this land is of the humans. You father does not have authority here, neither do you." I towards the rogues. "Do you want to go with them?" Immediately they shook their heads no and fell to their knees. Begging to let them stay. I nodded and turned back to Kyle and said. "Sorry man it looks like they like me better. Now off my land or i have the right to tear you to pieces." In a sickly sweet tone
   All of a sudden him an his men shifted. Mazani, Alex, My warriors, and i shifted. A small war began. Wolves attacked from each side. While I watched out the corner of my eye as Kyle stood back and let his men die. He doesnt deserve to be king. I WILL take my rightful place as Queen. With Alex.. My mate. By my side as King.
    All of a sudden everything stopped. As my eyes watched one of the kings men had his jaws around Alex's neck. Loud and viscous growl ripped through my throat. Everyone stopped in their tracks. All except the one on Alex.
    I started walking towards them, and with every step another growl ripped through the air. Once I was close enough,  I noticed that his jaw closed even more and blood began to pool around Alex. Without a second thought I leaped through the air, ripping him off of Alex. Within a minute I ripped the guys head off. "He needs help. NOW!" One of my warriors yells. I stalked over and they layed him on my back. As i took of towards the house I felt his grip tighten. "Prepare the medical wing. My Mate has a throat wound." I mindlinked all of my doctors. As soon as we reached the house. People grabbed him and hurriedly took him into the house and to the medical wing where the doctors were waiting.
    I shifted back and someone handed me a huge shirt that I slipped on. I walked into the medical wing and was dripping in blood. I saw Alex and he passed out again. The doctors began working on him as i left.
    I walked back into the hallway. "Maggie? Are you ok?" Kalley asked. I looked up and a tear rolled down my cheek. A single clear streak. Ran down my cheeks and off my chin.
    I silently walked to my room, to the bathroom, and took a shower. I watched as the blood of the man that tried to kill my mate, swirls and goes down the drain. Once I finished washing my hair and body. I stepped out and slipped on a pair of short shorts that reached a little below my butt and a shirt about 5 sizes to big that reached about mid-thigh. I walked out of the bathroom, to see connor, Julian, and Mazani in my room. Connor and Julian were sitting at the end of my bed and Mazani was at my door. I could hardly see him. They just looked at me and didnt say anything. And out of nowhere I began crying. I slid down my wall and began to sob. My body jerking in sobs. "He almost killed Alex." I cried out. Connor and Julian looked at each other and then came over and hugged me. Helping me into bed, I layed down and cried myself to sleep. 

    The next day
  Alex's POV
     My eyes flutter open and immediately closed again. Groaning. The lights turned off and only the soft glow from the sunshine lite the room. As I opened my eyes again. I saw mom an dad, also Mazani. And as I looked around i was in a room, it looked almost exactly like a hospital room.
   "We are still at Maggie's. You slept through the night. And you are fully healed. We can go now if you like?" Mazani said. I shook my head no and climbed out of bed. Making my way to her room, following her scent.
    Slowly I pushed open her door and looked upon her sleeping form. But she wasnt as peaceful as I had hoped. "Alex.. Alex no! Please wake up Alex! Please!" She started screaming. Before I could react Julian walked up to me rubbing his eyes, looking like hell. "She has been screaming all night. She thought she lost you." He said then walked back to his room. I walked into her room, closing the door behind me and crawling into bed next to her. As soon as I wrapped my arms around her, the screaming stopped and we both fell into a peaceful sleep.
