//Announcement at the very bottom//
First of all, I just wanted to thank all of you who has read this story, voted, commented, and added it to their reading lists! The story probably wouldn't have finished with out you guys.
I didn't expect to get this many reads when I first made it! Right now this story has 66k reads and 3k votes! When I brainstormed this story, I thought it would get like 8k reads and 200 votes but no?? I'm so surprised!
When I first started Oak Tree, I didn't really care and made up stuff as I was going until chapter four. I made those four chapters in a span of a year maybe. But then I realized, "Wait, I need an ending. Wait, I need a middle. Wait, I need all of these things" and I was only on chapter four and the page numbers were small so I could start an outline and I updated once or twice or even thrice a month and this story got so many reads and comments and votes and they really kept me going. Thank you all!!
I promised myself that I would finish over the summer but today was the first day of school, so uh...does that count? Lol.
When I started When Siren Meets Pirate, I didn't know how to start a story because I was probably just starting middle school and that English class didn't really teach anything story-wise...we just read class books and did these stupid journals about them and we had to take notes from movies and also vocabulary. Yep. That's it.
Anyway, I didn't have a plan. All I knew is that I wanted to write about siren Bill. I made it all up as I went along and forgot like, everything about the world and everything was so confusing (to me) and people seemed to really love it and I didn't want to let them down. And so I made an ending. A very, very weak ending. I didn't know how to end that story on a high note or anything. I had no clues to anything or just a basic storyline planned.
And I made the first four chapters of Oak Tree because I wanted to start anew. And then I made Red Hands and that story was so modern and different and longer than the other ones and it felt like a fresh start.
This story took so long to finish because I had to divide up a lot of chapters because they got too long. I almost divided Chapter 29 but Chapter 30 would have been like, 200 words long.
I also want to talk about my writing style. I feel like I don't put my all into it and that I under explain things and bring up things over and over again and I'm sorry if those parts bored you.
Sarah J Maas readers: new drinking challenge - take a shot of orange juice whenever I make a Sarah J Maas reference in this entire book. (Warning: there's a lot. Yikes.)
If there is anything I haven't clarified in the story, just ask below and I'll answer:
___
I'll be answering questions here!
Q: Sequel?
A: No, there will not be a sequel.
My BillDip One-Shots book has a tiny chapter about a night or two after the events of the end of Oak Tree, if you're interested, but it is not a sequel; just extra content.Q: Will anything be different in the rewrite?
A: Yes, but nothing too drastic; the first half of the original, in my opinion, goes too slow so I will be combining a lot of those chapters and leaving a couple out. Bill will be in it in the first half more often, since it's a BillDip story and all. I will be adding Mabel chapters (not as much, though) because I think they are important and I know a lot of people don't read Mabel chapters in other BillDip stories, but she and a couple of the other characters like Stan, Ford, Pacifica, and even Robbie will be more highlighted, but they will not be the focus. I will be going more into depth with Tad and even more than ever with Bill (don't worry, no boring flashbacks), especially after he turns human. Just imagine everything but put under a microscope, lol.___
Remember this tapestry? My interpretation of it basically was that the people were bowing down to a tree (Dipper) and Bill was in the back also bowing to Bill so basically, for this story, it means that Bill and Dipper are equals in power and stuff.
