Dipper collected the bags and he had to breathe through his mouth so he could block the smell. He had to avert his eyes away from the two bags of human blood he'd stolen from the ER, just so he wouldn't start vomiting.
Gross.
Bill had eagerly teleported him out of the hospital a couple of minutes later, when Dipper sent a thought to Bill that he got the bags.
Bill ordered a henchmaniac to cover their fingers with the blood to draw Bill's summoning circle. Dipper oddly didn't feel guilty, he didn't feel anything at all actually when Bill used the summoning spell to fill the gaps in the equation.
Dipper did not utter a word when the entire world went to hell.
Not a single one as he saw the barrier shielding Gravity Falls shatter to pieces.
None when he saw burning things drown the greenery. He watched the world burn and he couldn't do anything about it. Not anymore. But...
Dipper drowned out the sounds of chaos and focused on Pyronica's words a few days back...To turn him back to what he was before, he must fall in love, but he's...changed. Love was such a human thing. But maybe demons were capable of love. Dipper still loved his family. His friends. Maybe this was the salvation—falling in love with Bill. Or Bill loving someone back, at least. Dipper wondered if it were himself that was going to break the spell or curse or whatever this was.
Someone leaned against the wall where he was sitting in front of the gigantic triangle door. He recognized those pale, pink flames—Pyronica.
"You sure are thinking hard, kiddo! Relax, have some fun."
"Py, if you really knew me, then you know that I can't relax or have fun," Dipper deadpanned.
The magenta demon groaned. "Alright, alright. What are you thinking about?" She sat against the dark wall beside him.
"P-Pyro...remember when you told me that Bill used to be human? And you said that he must fall in love to end," he gestured wildly outside, "this?"
Pyronica gazed deep into his eyes. "What are you implying?" She asked.
"I don't know, I—" Dipper slumped against the wall. "Maybe, I don't know...I could try?"
Her eyes lit up. "Oh, really?" Her flames seemed to dance. "Wow, I don't know about you, but since I spied on one of your training lessons, it clicked in me that maybe, hey! You could break the curse!"
Dipper gaped at her. "What, really?!"
The magenta demon nodded vigorously. "You do realize how easy he is on you? He's grown soft ever since you started living here—have you noticed that? And he lets you push him around and whenever someone else tries to do that," she snapped her flaming fingers, "Boom, they're gone!"
"What are you implying now?"
She looked at him incredulously. "That he likes you, dummy! Or I think he does, at least. But hey," she winked, "I can try and convince him to like you."
Dipper blinked. "You...you realize that if Bill and I..." he couldn't find the words. "That there would be no Weirdmageddon anymore. Aren't you supposed to, you know, enjoy this? Destroy every threat to the apocalypse? In this case, I'm the threat..." Dipper's heart began to beat faster.
Pyronica tilted her head and laughed. "Ya know, kiddo, that this won't turn Bill human...just a human body." She clapped his back a little too hard as she got up. "If anyone wanted to kill you, just know that I've got your back." She waved finger guns at him and disappeared.
Dipper didn't know how to feel after that talk. His mind drifted to that voice he kept hearing whenever he finally found his happy place...Tad Strange, was it?
Dipper groaned as he stood. Almost all he did was think, think, and think. Mostly a bunch of what-ifs. He wanted to turn those what-ifs into actions.
He had to set goals for himself. Maybe now he could—
"Hiya, PT!"
Dipper almost screamed as Bill snuck up on him. Dipper cursed his demon senses for not sensing him. "What do you want?"
Bill shrugged his skinny arms. "I was just about to ask you the same thing. I heard you and Pyronica talking about me and I'm wondering what it was about."
Dipper scoffed and began walking the other way. "I don't have to tell you anything." But Dipper yelped as Bill teleported in front of him.
"You're right," Bill said quietly for once. "Who wants to kill you?"
"No one." He brushed past the demon, hoping the conversation was over.
Bill grabbed his arm. Dipper could see his triangular shadow. "What is their name."
Dipper whipped around to face him. Tad Strange. He was afraid to say the name out loud, just in case.
Bill's grip on his arm tightened.
"Does that ring a bell?"
Bill's eye darkened. That was the most murderous look Dipper had ever seen. But he would not cower. Bill answered, "He was a...former friend of mine, you could say. Did he say anything to you?"
"You will never escape me," Dipper said unsurely. "Whenever we somehow...meet, something happens and I lose control of myself and pass out or something. It happened at the library and where the forest was." He admitted.
Bill growled and let go of his arm. "Pine Tree, you listen to me," he said, voice more serious than he had ever heard it, "You should stay with me from now on until we get this handled." Dipper paled. "I'll teach that square not to cross my territory."
His territory.
What the fuck.
