i pull up to my moms house and park in the driveway. i get it and walk to the back and take out marli. i grab my phone but leave the car running and then walk up to the front door. i knock twice and then wait a little. the door open after a few seconds and i see my little sister standing there. she smiles.
"are you ready?" i ask walking inside.
"i just need to grab my shoes." she says. i nod. she closes the door and then jogs upstairs. i walk into the kitchen, where i see my mom.
"hey grandma." i say. she turns around and smiles.
"ohhh. let me see my little baby." she says. i laugh and set her on her arms.
"you've grown so much." my mom says to the baby, adjusting her little headband. i laugh softly.
"when do you want her back?" i ask, referring to bri.
"before 9. its a school night." she says. i nod.
"i'm ready." i hear bro say from behind me. my mom gives marli a kiss in the forehead and hands her back. she then side hugs me and kisses my cheek.
"have fun. be safe. bri, listen to your sister." she tells us. bri nods with a slight eye roll.
"love you." she says, kissing my cheek once more and then kissing bri's. i wave to her as we walk out of the kitchen and out of the front door.
"is hayes gonna be there?" bri asks. i laugh as i open the back door and set marli back in her car seat. i buckle her up and then close the door.
"yes he will be." i say. she nods and gets in the back with marli. bri or brianna, has a big crush on hayes. hayes knows about this said crush but has yet to inform me if he likes her to or not. and i told him that if he were to date her, he'd have to ask me first. i did that to scare him, but secretly, i'm perfectly fine with them dating. as long as she doesn't get pregnant. my mom was a teen mom and thankfully i wasn't. so i'm just hoping bri won't be either.
"where are we eating anyways?" she asks.
"uhhh. i think the hungry cat." i say.
"seafood?" she asks
"they have burgers there." i say.
"ok." she says back. i laugh. my phone starts to ring and i quickly answer it, putting it on speaker.
"babe." i hear Jack say.
"what?" i ask.
"the wait time for a table is like, what'd they say?" he asks, i'm sure one of the guys.
"30 minutes." one of them answers.
"like 30 minutes." he says.
"ok?" i answer
"do you wanna still eat here?" he asks.
"if you guys wanna go somewhere else that's fine, but it's gonna take us a while to get there in the first place." i say.
"oh ok. then we'll just stay." he says. i laugh.
"ask him." bri whispers to me. i give her a look and sigh.
"Jack, bri wants to know if hayes is there or gonna be there." i ask.
"no!" bri says. i laugh and so does Jack.
"he on his way. yes he'll be here." he says. bri does a little happy dance. i laugh
"ok well we'll see you in a little." i say.
"alright, bye. love you." Jack says.
"love you too. bye." i say. i then hang up.
"your gonna make it so obvious that i like hayes." she says.
"brianna. when your around him, your so extra." i say. she laughs.
"i know i can't help it. how can you expect me to act normal around a hot guy? you were the same way when you first met Jack." she says.
"i chilled out like the third day of knowing him. you've known hayes for two years." i say. she laughs.
"just be yourself. your very likeable." i say.
"i'll try." she says. i laugh and turn onto the highway, finally headed towards the restaurant.
