■Kara■
Ah, senior year. It's like a breath of fresh air in the summertime. After waking up this morning I have been standing at my closet trying to find something to wear.
It's like my closet has had its own garage sale a few times when I wasn't home. Every item of clothing is either new and unworn or old and unworn.
"Kara hurry up were gonna be late!" Masie yells at me, barging through the door. Masie is my best friend, we've been through everything together.
Breakups, fights, mainly everything best friends go through. "Masie, we have to be there at seven. It's only five in the morning," I say, placing my hands on her shoulders.
She sticks her tongue out at me and walks to my closet which is now a pile of clothes on the floor.
"Hm, what to wear what to wear," Masie says, going through every item of clothing on the floor.
She sets down the outfit she has picked out for me.
I toss aside the sweater and the beanie. "Yeah, I thought that would look better," Masie says, handing me the clothes.
"Now get dressed, we're showing up fashionably early." She chuckles as she exits my room.
I just shake my head at her oddness and get changed into the clothing. It's not something I would normally wear but it works.
I walk into my bathroom and start with my hair, tossing it into a long ponytail.
I decided to just use my Nude eye shadow pallete and just go with browns and oranges.
I apply some light cherry red lipstick after brushing my teeth and I exit my bathroom, shutting the light off on the way out.
I walk over to my bed, grabbing my grey one strap shoulder bag and my phone. I take one last look in my full body mirror and head out the door.
I walk down the main hallway and I notice Masie at the door waiting for me, "ready for some fun?" She asks.
"You know it," I say, grabbing a piece of toast off the counter that I had made earlier.
■Now to arrive at school■
Masie and I get out of her car and we start walking up to the doors where a lot of people are standing.
Mainly freshmen and juniors but some seniors. We walk over to a bench to sit down at and I set my bag beside my feet.
I look up at Masie when she clears her throat at me. She gestures her head to someone behind me and I look over.
I lock eyes with the one and only Trystan Wick, the school's major bad boy. Our eyes stay peeled onto each other for a few seconds until he checks me out and smirks.
I form a small smile and turn back to Masie who is now taking selfies on her phone.
"Maybe he likes you," Masie says as she takes another photo. "Oh please, he's a total player and besides I am not his type," I exclaim.
People start to enter school and Masie and I follow. I head straight to my locker, waving bye to Masie before I went
As I walk someone stands directly in front of my locker, talking to the person next to him.
I tap the person's shoulder and he turns to reveal his face. Of course, it's Trystan. "What can I help you with sweetheart?" He asks, smirking at me.
"Your standing in front of my locker," I say, crossing my arms over my chest. He looks at my locker and then back at me, not moving at all.
"Maybe I was waiting for you, maybe your my Juliet and I'm Romeo." He says, grinning.
"Oh shut up you moron, I wouldn't be interested anyway," I say, shoving him out of my way.
He steps back in front of me, "hold on one second, are you saying you wouldn't even go out with me?" He asks, sounding shocked.
I scoff. "Listen here Wick, if I even went out with you, you would probably ditch me the next day acting like nothing ever happened. Right?" I say.
"True, but maybe you're special." He winks at me before walking off down the now empty hallway. Damnit he made me late!
I speed walk to my first class and I enter. All eyes get turned to me like I just killed somebody.
"Ms. Tison, you're late on the first day of school? How shocking." Mrs. Dee says to me, gesturing for me to sit down.
I sit down in the only empty seat which was in the back, next to some of Trystans friends. I sit there and pay attention to the lesson.
I look over to where I hear someone trying to get my attention. I look to see my best guy friend Leo making faces at me.
I look back at the teacher who is still talking and I try not to laugh looking back at Leo.
The bell rings a few minutes later and I walk down the hallway, back to my locker. As I'm walking I notice that Trystan and his friends are staring at me.
Some of them are catcalling or rubbing their hands together. I see Trystan shoo them off and start walking my way.
I stand at my locker, putting in my combination. "So what does a guy have to do to get a girl to like him?" Trystan asks me.
"Why ask me? I'm not a love expert or anything." I say, opening my locker and blocking my view of his face.
"Well, I'm asking you because maybe I like you," Trystan says, winking at me before he leaves down the hall.
Good lord what have I gotten into?
