÷Maisie÷

"Lee? What're you doing here?" I ask confused. Don't tell me he came to Boston just to see me. "I came to see you, I know that I left things on bad terms between us." He says. Point proved. He smiles widely which freaks me out. "Uhm, I wasn't expecting you to come all the way to Boston," I say, standing from my chair. "I thought you were in New York," I say. He scratches the back of his neck, "well I mean I was, I just came to Boston to visit my friends." I nod and turn to a hand placed on my shoulder.

I look up and see Jessie glaring at Lee. "Hey, Jessie! How have you been?" Lee says nervously. What is with these two tonight? Jessie forces a smile at him, "I'm just peachy Lee, why are you here in this fine ass town?" She asks, blinking. "I was just here for an interview." He responds subtly. Interview? "An interview? I thought you said you were visiting friends." I say, looking at Lee.

Lee doesn't say anything but instead, he just takes my drink from my hand, chugging it down. "Good stuff right?" He says, trying to hide the disgust on his face. "Lee, why are you really here?" Jessie asks, her hand still resting on my shoulder. "I was looking for Maisie." He mumbles, looking to the floor. "What for Mattox?" She calls Lee by his last name. He again scratches the back of his neck nervously.

Lee stands, setting his hand down at his side. "I was here to apologize to her and make things right between the two of us." He exclaims, looking at me then looking at Jessie. "Well, Maisie was just leaving she has loads of studying to do," Jessie says, pulling me off the stool and dragging me outside to the car. "Jessie, he was being nice," I say to her, pulling my arm away from her grip.

"I don't care if he was being nice Maisie, there's something off about this guy," Jessie says, turning to look at me. "Off? What is so off about Lee?" I ask her, looking for a small explanation. Jessie throws her arms down at her side, sighing. "I don't know Maisie, maybe he's just a secret d-bag." She puts her hands on her hips before getting in the car. I open my door, jumping in before closing it. "Technically I didn't lie to him, you originally didn't want to come since you had to study to do," Jessie says.

I can't disagree with that. "Right Maisie? I didn't lie to him?" She says, looking at me then back at the road. I look out the window, avoiding the conversation. Jessie pulls back into the campus parking lot, parking the car in her usual spot. I unbuckle my seat belt and get out of the car, Jessie does the same. I walk up to the front doors, scanning my key card before walking inside.

Jessie and I go in the elevator, heading straight up to our room. Once we get there I see a small note taped to the door. Jessie pulls it off, opening it and reading it. "Who's Zeke?" She asks, handing me the note so I can read it, Dear Room 221, my name is Zeke Hale. I wanted to invite you to a small party just down the hall. There will be drinks, people, and food. Join us in room 237. Good night. "Let's find out," I say, folding the note back up and walking down the hallway.

We reach room 237 and I knock on the door. The door swings open to reveal a girl with pink hair, a cigarette in hand. "Who are you?" She asks, placing one hand on her hip. "Uhm, I'm Maisie and this is Jessie," I say, motioning to Jessie standing behind me. Jessie waves before setting her hand back down to her side. I watch as a guy shoves past the girl, almost knocking her cigarette out of her hand.

"Maisie and Jessie?" He asks. The guy is at least the height of Jessie, so taller than me. The guy leads us inside where people are sitting and talking to one another. Some calming music is playing and the chatter of voices is lower than expected at a party. "My name is Zeke by the way, I throw house parties a few nights a week." The guy says, continuing to walk. "I always invite newer members to the campus," Zeke says, stopping at a fridge before handing us two water bottles.

"Nice place Zeke, I've always been fond of succulents," Jessie says, grazing her hand over a small potted plant. "Really? Everyone normally hates the plants I have besides the people here." Zeke says, a glint in his eye as he speaks to Jessie. Jessie motions to her shirt that has plants all over it. Zeke smiles before looking to the floor. "You guys can make yourselves comfortable, I'll be over by the couch," Zeke says, walking to an empty spot on the small sofa.

Jessie walks and sits beside Zeke. I walk around, finding an old looking door. I twist the handle, opening the door and stepping inside. I close it quietly behind me and turn, walking through a dark hallway with a light at the end of it. Once I reach where the light is I look around to find I'm in a library full of multiple shelves covered in books among books. "Thought I was the only one who knew about this place." A voice says from behind me.

I turn and see Lee sitting at a table with a book in hand. Here we go.
