[Y'all will hate me but welcome to eight years into the future]

Eight years. That's how long it's been since I've been with Kara. I can't even think about it without cringing. The cringe is because she didn't get the life she deserved. I've finished school, Jessie moved to Alaska with her boyfriend. So I've been staying home, taking care of myself and trying to forget about the past. "Maisie? You in here?" Lee's voice asks from outside my door.

"Yeah," I tell him, setting my clothes in my top drawer. "How was work today?" I ask him, sitting down in my chair. Lee shrugs, "it was the same as every day." Nodding, I stand back up and start putting my other clothes away that have been folded. I feel Lee wrap his arms around me, as he rests his head on my shoulder.

"Cmon, I have loads of stuff to do," I say, shrugging him off me. He groans, picking me off the ground and swinging me around. Forewarning, I've been depressed the past few months and he's the only one that can make me laugh. "Are you still up for dinner tonight?" He asks, messing with my rings on my fingers. "I suppose." I sigh, walking out of my room and into the kitchen.

"Dinner's at five, be ready okay?" Lee asks, grabbing his jacket from the closet. I nod, grabbing some yogurt from the fridge. Lee walks over, kissing my forehead before walking out the door and driving off again. "Always in a hurry," I mutter, pulling a spoon from the silverware drawer. I sit down at the counter and look around the house, watching the dust collect on the desks, and the TV screen.

I hate this, having to live in isolation every day and have Lee who needs to look after me 24/7 so I don't try something stupid. I turn to my phone ringing and I see the screen which is Jessie's icon. I hit the deny button and flip my phone over, not bothering to pick up her calls. She hasn't called me the past eight years so what's the point!? I flip it back over and listen to the voicemail, "hey Maisie, I just wanted to see how you were doing. Okay, bye."

I blink a few times before putting my phone in my hand and dialing her number. The phone rings a few times before she picks up, "Maisie, hey." Jessie says. "Hi.," I mutter into the phone. "How've you been? Lee's been calling and stuff so." She says, sounding sincere. "I've been good, working hard to get things done but otherwise life's been great," I tell her, trying to sound as happy as possible.

"That's great! I'm glad to hear you're doing better." She says, talking over laughter in the background. "Sorry, I've got some friends over," Jessie tells me, yelling at the ones being loud before chuckling back into the phone. "New friends huh?" I ask, taking a bite of my yogurt. "Uh, yeah, they're really nice and you would like them." She says. "No, I don't think I would," I say, getting a bit frustrated.

Jessie doesn't say anything so I break the silence, "it was nice talking but I gotta go." I say, hanging up the phone before she could speak again. Looking over to the clock I see that it's three-thirty. I stand from my seat and walk to my room, opening my closet doors. I dig through some of Kara's old clothes and I find the old dress she wore the day we first met. I pick it up and throw it on my bed along with a jean jacket.

"Alright Kara, if you can rock it, then so can I," I say, throwing the dress on and looking in the mirror. I fix the jacket, smiling at the way I look. "I love you so much, Kara," I mumble, grabbing some flats and slipping them on my feet. Walking out into the living room, I flop onto the couch and wait for the time to pass which lemme tell you, goes so god damn slow. I tap my fingers on my lap and stare at the clock, watching it turn into four-o-clock.

I huff, standing off the couch and walking to the window only to see that it is raining outside. "Great," I mutter to myself, walking back to my bedroom to grab boots instead of flats. I dig through and find a pair of my old boots. Sitting down, I take my flats off and throw them on the floor, tucking my feet into the black boots.

"Maisie?" I hear Lee's voice say from down the hallway. "Coming!" I say back, walking out of my room to see Lee wearing a grey suit and black jeans. I chuckle, taking a step forward. "Wow," I say, looking him up and down. "Wow yourself." He tells me, also looking me up and down. He is smokin'.

Tada! Another chapter is done and another step is closer to ending this book. Who else is excited for this book to end and another work will come out!?

So, I wanted to let you know that new work will be published almost right after BBWBB is finished. I think you will like my new book better since I took a lot more time to come up with it and it's not as fast-paced as my other books are.

Anyways, hope y'all have a marvelous day/night (wherever you are).
