Avi bustles around the kitchen while Kirstie chills with Olaf and Pascal. They'd clearly missed her, and she would have ended up on the floor when they greeted her if Avi hadn't have been behind her. She is glad; she couldn't have afforded the injury with the musical about to open.
Kirstie is getting hungrier and hungrier, she has no idea what Avi is making but it smells amazing already, and even the fur-babies are drooling. She keeps craning her neck to see if she can see anything over the back of the sofa, she can't. And he won't tell her what he's making either, which is infuriating, but it's also like old times when the two of them would hang out, long before he changed. Her happy mood instantly fizzles because she knows that this isn't the same Avi anymore, and he never will be again. She knows that she's not the same girl either but she can confidently say that she at least, has changed for the better.
Lost in thought, Kirstie notices Avi walk the plates through and hold one out to her.
"Kirst?" He says, snapping her from her trance.
"Oh right. Oh wow," she says smiling at the food, "This looks delicious."
"Thank you," he smiles, taking the seat next to her.
"What is it?" She asks because he has to tell her now right? She hopes he doesn't expect her to recognise it because then he's shit out of luck.
"Can't you just eat and enjoy?" He asks with a chuckle.
"I like to know what's going into my body," she says with snark, but playfully.
Avi watches her for a moment, "Okay fine, its pork cutlet parmesan."
Kirstie nods, "I still don't know what it is," she giggles.
"It's the best I could do on short notice."
"So it's like pork and cheese?"
"In a tomato base, there's pasta in there too."
Kirstie's eyes light up, "Man, pasta two nights in a row, I'm gonna have to put in a major effort in at the gym tomorrow," she jokes before digging in. "This is amazing," she says through a mouthful.
"Glad you like it," Avi smiles before finally starting to eat himself.
They're silent for a short while, the both of them just enjoying their food. Although Kirstie is getting increasingly more and more worried about the chat they're going to have, what if she lets something slip that she shouldn't?
"So," Avi says between mouthfuls of food. "Where should we start?"
Kirstie just shakes her head, piling more food in.
"We have to talk Kirst, get on the same wavelength, and figure everything out. I mean things like I can't go to work with you every day, you need your dressing room," he speaks though not obtaining a response from Kirstie. "I need to know other things too, things so that I don't push whatever buttons I keep pressing with you to make you so mad."
"I don't want to hear about your previous sex life or any girls that you make out with while you're living with me. Your past is disgusting and it isn't necessary to know about anything you do in the present."
Avi frowns, "I have never said anything about what I did in the past and what I said this morning was only to assure you that I haven't stuffed up already," he explains.
"When is your first SA meeting?" Kirstie asks.
"Thursday."
"Good, you can talk about this with them, then you won't be pushing any of my buttons," she gives him a very forced, very fake smile.
"Why doesn't it make you angry?"
"It doesn't make me angry!" She snaps.
Avi shrugs, "That sounds angry to me."
"Because you won't stop talking about this stuff! Now thank you for dinner, I'm going to bed," she gets and drops her plate in the sink.
Avi has a theory about why she's being like this, but it's stupid, it wouldn't be true, it couldn't be true, its so implausible he won't even think about, it was a stupid idea Avi.
A/N: That was semi-longer, lol, and a whole lot more important :o
What do you guys think is Avi's theory?
Hannah.
