A/N: At least this one is a bit longer than the last one XD
Kirstie has no valid excuse for Avi to not come out with her to the "fun" places. He is now officially six weeks 'sober', and she still says no. No, stay home and look after Olaf and Pascal, no, stay home and find fun recipes, no, stay home and clean the apartment. The worst part is that she knows she's being a complete bitch, but she can't risk getting drunk in front of him and saying something she shouldn't. Plus Avi is California life and the others are her New York life, she barely introduced Scott to those people, it'd be weird wouldn't it?
She's been asked, by her New York friends, about Avi. Only Will knows Avi's here, she can't bring herself to tell the others and doesn't know if she will. All she's told them at this point is that she doesn't know, doesn't want to know and she hasn't asked. And then they talk shit about him and she can't stop them because she's told these people that she doesn't care about him, which is a huge fucking lie. It makes her feel terrible, but she just doesn't know what to do, she's stuck.
Avi is her friend, her secret friend that she just so happens to have a secret crush on, only a little crush: but still. She hadn't known until Scott said it, and when he did everything just made sense, annoying sense. It's annoying because she can't do anything about it, mentally or physically. Besides, Avi doesn't feel that way about her, he's said that, so she just needs to get over this crush, and she will, she's sure she will. It's a lot harder too when he walks back into the lounge in just his boxers.
"Oh damn, sorry, I thought you were out, you normally are," Avi says, only a little bitter, as he picks up a t-shirt from his bag behind the couch.
"That's okay," she replies, choosing to ignore his tone. "But why are you in your underwear?" She looks down at her hands.
"Because I just had a shower," he points at his wet hair then pulls on his pyjama pants.
"Right," Kirstie feels her cheeks heat up at her stupid question, mostly at her stupid question. "Of course you did," she smiles dimly, looking back at him.
He sits beside her, "Are you okay?"
"I'm great, so great; the real question is how are you?" She speaks too quickly and Avi watches her in confusion.
"I'm fine Kirst, but you're being really weird," he frowns.
"I am not being weird," she scoffs.
Avi nods slowly, "Yeah you are, you're freaking me out. Like for one your attitude's buzzy and for two," he holds up the appropriate number of fingers, "You're not with your cast mates. What's up with that?"
She shrugs, "Nothing, I just didn't feel like going out tonight."
"Who are you?" Avi asks with a chuckle.
Kirstie smiles, hitting his arm, "Don't be stupid!"
"You know I love you," he laughs in tune.
Kirstie's smile drops as she stares at Avi, equal parts shocked equal parts happy.
Avi's smile hesitates, "The song?"
"What song?" She is confused now.
"Don't be stupid, it's a Shania Twain song isn't it?"
There is no happy left in her expression now, damn that stupid song. She loves Shania but she no longer knows how she feels about that particular song, it had her hopeful. And now she has to join in or risk him asking more questions that she doesn't want to answer.
She sings, "Don't be impossible!"
Avi laughs and Kirstie half-heartedly joins in.
A/N: Big oops there Kirst XP Were you guys fooled there for a second? XD
