A/N: This is brought to you by perseverance through the pain and absolute boredom XD
Kirstie comes back into the living room at a more reasonable hour after a good sleep. She goes about her regular morning routine, letting Avi sleep in on the couch, even though he didn't pull out the actual bed part. She rolls her eyes as she fills up Olaf and Pascal's food dishes, then goes back to the room to get changed and ready to take them for a walk while they eat. And Avi sleeps, Kirstie begins to wonder if her and the fur babies could perform a full on circus and he still wouldn't wake up.
She puts the boy's harnesses on and off they go.
Kirstie always finds walking her dogs in New York weird. It's not like California where there are people walking their dogs all the time (at least where she walks her dogs), but not here. In fact most people she's met in New York so far think it's a little odd that she has a dog in the city, let alone two, and they're big. It's more likely to see a small dog, if one at all, New York city is for busy people who apparently don't have time for pets. But Kirstie doesn't care about other people's opinions, she loves her dogs and she was never going to let Jeremy keep them. He's got a new dog now anyway, a golden retriever of all dogs, how cliché. Huskies are better than Golden Retriever's any day. And she's not bitter about the break-up at all.
They go around the big block, because Olaf and Pascal need at least that much exercise since they don't have a backyard for running around in anymore. They'd be going back there, but at the moment they were stuck inside all day and that does make Kirstie feel bad. Her fur-babies deserve more than what they have, but New York is what she needs now, Kirstie is living her dream and loving every minute. Her only doubt is the space she has, and in the scheme of it all, that's pretty minimal right?
She lets the boys pick the pace as they get closer to home, which maybe isn't the best idea because even though she doesn't mind running with them, she didn't want to run right past the building. Kirstie almost faceplants trying to pull them to a stop.
"Boys!" She growls, because luckily they'd stopped so she can regain her balance. "Inside," she pulls them along all the way back up to her apartment. She opens the door and lets Olaf and Pascal lose.
Avi is still sound asleep and barely stirs when Pascal jumps up onto him.
"Really?" Kirstie complains, it's almost one in the afternoon. The mother of dogs knows her babies won't lick Avi because of his beard, or at least Olaf wouldn't before, and neither of them would lick Jeremy when he had stubble, so yeah. But Kirstie was going to make them, to see if they could wake him.
Retrieving the peanut butter from her pantry and a spoon from the cutlery draw she takes them over to Avi. "Back boys, you can have him in a moment," she shuffles the furry members of her family back and starts to spoon out peanut butter onto Avi. She tries not to get any in his beard, but if it happens, it happens. She smears it on his cheeks, forehead and nose, he didn't have a shirt on either, so why not there too. As the final touch she puts a spoonful into his mouth that's hanging open, he is about to get frenched by a dog. She doesn't feel an inch of guilt as she releases the dogs.
A/N: How will Avi react to this particular wake-up call? XD
