(We are in Norman's lab, where The Chameleon stands in front of him. Norman is shocked.)
NORMAN: "Who are you? What do you want? I...I'll get money if that's what you want..."
CHAMELEON: (casually walks towards him) "Relax...I'll tell you what I want...your friendship."
NORMAN: "Well...you're not doing a great job of convincing me to be friends...but I'm listening."
CHAMELEON: "Great." (He reaches into his bag, Norman starts to panic when...it is simply a bottle of whiskey. Norman is relieved as The Chameleon pulls up a seat next to him.) "It truly has been a while since I've had one of these...you drink?"
NORMAN: "Only when I'm stressed."
CHAMELEON: "So you're an everyday-drinker?"
(Norman shrugs, surprised at his sense of humor. Chameleon takes two glasses out of his bag and starts to pour drinks for the two of them.)
CHAMELEON: "So tell me, Norman...why do you do all of this?"
NORMAN: "You mean Oscorp? Well...I just want to make things safer...I want to make everyday life less..."
CHAMELEON: "Chaotic?"
NORMAN: "Exactly, safety is not exactly a word used a lot recently with all of these superhero playground fights that leave us, the people, having to pick up the pieces." (Intensifies)
CHAMELEON: "Woah...calm down, you haven't even drank yet." (Hands him glass) "So what are we drinking to?"
NORMAN: "To...I don't know, let's just drink."
(They both take a sip. Norman looks at The Chameleon, confused.)
NORMAN: "So...Mr. Chameleon, I believe is the name? You're quite...approachable for a villain."
CHAMELEON: "Villain? Last I checked, I wasn't the group of so-called heroes who knocked down entire buildings. See, that's what you and I have in common, Mr. Osborn...we both know the kind of people we SHOULD trust."
NORMAN: "I see that..."
CHAMELEON: "And look, that Spider-Man kid...he isn't one of them." (Norman nods in agreement.) "So, I just want you to know that I heavily support what you're doing. I lost someone to, y'know...to SHIELD. My brother...he..."
(Norman notices him being distraught.)
NORMAN: "Oh...I'm sorry to hear about that."
CHAMELEON: "It's really...nothing anymore. I should probably go."
(Chameleon starts to walk away, without the bottle or glasses.)
NORMAN: "Hey, you forgot your drink!"
CHAMELEON: (stops walking away at door) "Eh, keep it. Think of it as...a token of our friendship, as cliche as that sounds."
(He proceeds to walk away again, but not before stopping again to drop a bomb...)
CHAMELEON: "Norman, one last thing because one thing I value in friendship is honesty..."
NORMAN: "Yeah? What is it?"
CHAMELEON: "I'm the one who gave you that serum that you injected yourself with. You'll know why soon enough..."
(Chameleon exits the building as Norman sits there, puzzled. He now has more questions than he did before he walked in; however, footsteps start to approach him. Norman tenses up and is ready for anything when...)
(It's his son, Harry, with his hands full of take-out food.)
HARRY: "Dad? I hope you don't mind feasting...is that alcohol? I thought you said you gave up drinking?"
NORMAN: (shaken) "Yeah...well, a...friend gave it to me and it'd be rude not to be grateful for a gift."
