(We are outside of the lair, where Norman, Liz, and Spider-Man all stand, exhausted.)
SPIDEY: "F.R.I.D.A.Y, get an ambulance and firefighters on the way please."
FRIDAY: "Already on the way, sir."
(Norman puts his hand on Spider-Man's shoulder, he turns around around, nervous for his reaction. Norman responds by...hugging him.)
NORMAN: "I just see bits and pieces of what happened to me...I'm so sorry."
SPIDEY: "It's alright...that wasn't you, Mr. Osborn."
NORMAN: "Thank you, thank you for saving me. If there's any way you can help me, please let me know."
(Norman walks away. Spidey looks over at Liz, who is sitting down, looking at her wounded arm.)
LIZ: "Wow, I'm a badass, right?"
SPIDEY: "Ehhhh, let me know when you save a couple of dimensions...I'm joking, you did great."
LIZ: "So, I'm definitely gonna need to go to the hospital."
SPIDEY: "Yeah, definitely. I'm gonna head over to Mel's and grab some food. Call me when you get home?"
(The sirens of an ambulance start to grow closer and closer. Liz looks over to where the ambulances are coming from, then turns back.)
LOZ: "Yeah, I'll text you...." (she turns to find that Spider-Man has disappeared. She smiles to herself.) "I hate you."
(She looks up to find Spider-Man sitting on the ledge of a building; he swings away.)
(We go to a montage that shows:
Liz getting stitched up while Norman is upset at himself as he gets checked up on by the paramedics;
Peter picking up some food from a diner with a smile;
Harry back at the dorm, sitting in a corner, sulking;
And Liz getting back to her place and hugging Joe, her guardian. She has a bandage wrapped around her arm.)(Cut to later in the night, Peter swings onto the balcony of Liz's apartment. Liz smiles and opens the window.)
PETER: "Hey, hero."
LIZ: (comically cocky) "Yes, I am."
PETER: (holds up a bag) "I brought some stuff..."
(He climbs into the room and hands Liz a cup of something solid.)
PETER: "I tried to keep it cold, so I threw it in the fridge."
(Liz grips the cup, noticing that it is really rock solid. She hits it against a nearby desk a couple times.)
LIZ: "Did you put it in the fridge or the freezer?"
PETER: (looks at cup, then sighs) "Aunt May..."
LIZ: (laughs) "It's alright, come here!"
(They meet in the middle and kiss.
Cut to 40 minutes later, where they're laying in bed, in the middle of a lighthearted conversation. They both burst out laughing.
Once it dies down, Peter seems to have something to say.)PETER: "Hey, uhm...there's something I need to tell you..."
LIZ: "Really? Me too, let's say it on the count of 3, ok?"
PETER: "Alright, ready? 1...2...3!
PETER/LIZ: (simultaneously) "I'm sorry." "I'm moving."
PETER: "Wait, what?"
LIZ: "I'm sorry..." (They both sit up and Liz rubs his head to relax him.) "I'm really really sorry, I'm moving west cause Joe doesn't think I'm safe here. And I mean..." (she gestures towards her bandaged arm.)
PETER: (devastated/defeated, a feeling he knows all too well.) "But...I thought everything was going right...for once. Of course..."
LIZ: "Peter, I'm really really sorry. But..."
PETER: "I just feel like the cards are always against me and I'm tired of fighting uphill battles. I'm tired..."
(They embrace...)
LIZ: "I wanna try and make things work. I think we can do it: a long distance relationship..."
PETER: "Wait, are you serious?"
LIZ: "Yeah, 100%. Look, I've never felt how I felt about you before...I love you, like a lot."
PETER: (it's been a while since he's heard those words from someone other than May) "I...love you too. But are you sure?"
LIZ: "Yeah, I promise we'll make it work. I'll visit as much as possible! Ok?"
PETER: "You really think it'll work for us? I barely keep my relationships with people near me, I don't know if-"
LIZ: "You're overthinking again...I promise, we'll be alright."
