True Colors (Splatoon Story) (Complete)

Chapter 2 -The Research-

I landed near the manhole that leads to my home and quickly made my way towards it. I needed to get away from Inkopolis for a little while. Especially now that I've come in contact with water for a certain amount of time.

I reached my home, dropped my weapons and clothes and reached the back of the cave. As I lay down against the way, I started to sink in it. This, is a side effect of mine. Whenever I come in contact with water for a certain amount of time, I start to generate some sort of acidic ink and I need to get rid of it. That was also the reason why I was able to break down the crane back at Hammerhead Bridge and to climb up the platform with easy.

I let out a sigh as I'm finally resting after the events of today, even if I'm partially sinking in the stone. Once my acidic ink has stopped generating, I put on my cloth back and go to my bed to sleep.

-Inkopolis, Callie and Marie's Studio, Hours after the incident-

After the incident of Hammerhead Bridge, Pearl and Marina came to check on the Squid Sisters if they were alright.

"I'm so glad that both of you are alright after what happened," said Marina in a worried tone.

"Yeah, but who was that person that saved you?" Pearl asked.

"We don't know. All that we know is that this Inkling has black tentacles, and he's very strong," Callie explained.

"Wait, did you say black tentacles?" Pearl asked.

"Yeah, why do you ask? There are a lot of people out there with a lot of colours," Marie said.

"True, but not black. There's only one inkling in Inkopolis with pure black tentacles. That's 'The Midnight Ghost'," Marina explained.

"What? I though that was just an urban legend of Inkopolis," Marie said in disbelieve.

"You've witnesed him a couple of hours ago, Marie. He's no legend," said Pearl.

"But why did he flee?" Callie asked.

"No one really knows much about The Midnight Ghost. That's not even his real name, just a name that everyone gave him," Marina explained.

"Is there a way to find him?" Marie asked.

"Not that we know of. They call him Midnight Ghost for a reason. He's illusive and near impossible to find," Pearl explained.

"Hmm, Marie? Do you think that grampa might know something about him?" Callie asked.

"Cap'n Cuddlefish? Who knows with that crazy old coot, but I highly doubt it," said Pearl.

"Maybe while we're at it, maybe we could ask help from Agent 3, 4 and 8," Marina suggested.

"But what will we do if we find him?" Marie asked.

"We'll... We'll come up with something once we cross that road," Callie responded.

Marie just rolled her eyes as everyone make way towards one of the secret entrances to Octo Vally that leads to Cuttlefish Cabin. When the four finally arrived, they were met with the old, bearded squid himself, Cap'n Cuddlefish.

"Well hello there, everyone. To what do I own the pleasure to seeing you all?" he asked.

"Hey grampa. We've came to ask you some questions if you don't mind," Callie asked.
