"You're one of their experiments? How?" Callie asked in shock.
I looked around for a moment and saw a metal rod. I reached out to it and grab it. I showed to everyone and then I started to use my acidic touch on it, causing it to split in two. They were completely shocked to see what happened.
"That's a side effect of what happens when I come in contact with water. From little that I wish to remember from that hell, we were modified to resist water for certain attacks. For what or why, we were never told," I explained.
"You're similar to Agent 8 then," said Cap'n Cuttlefish.
"Really?" I asked sceptically as I look at her, by which, she nodded.
"If it's not too much to ask, could... could you tell us more about what happened?" Marina asked in a worried tone.
"I guess it's better to start at the beginning," I said to them.
-Ten Years Ago, Exalted Flame Company-
"Come on, you slowpoke! Get a move on!" said one of the soldiers that were pointing their gun at the test subjects, and not just paint gun, but actual guns.
They were all forcing us to go to another testing chamber to 'test' us for another experiment. Today, they wanted to experiment us for water resistance. God knows how many will die today for this test.
One by one, test subjects entered a patted chamber and the door closed behind them. I was waiting patiently for my turn, even if I didn't want to do it was either do the test or getting killed by the soldier.
After five minutes or so later, the chamber opened. I reluctantly entered the chamber and once I entered it, the door closed immediately.
"Test Subject nº 777, the test consist in your resistance to water. This test will last five minutes," said the man from the intercom.
As soon as he finished this sentence, the chamber started to fill up with water quickly. Within the first twenty second it was already at my waist up and quickly rising. Normally, a lot of the test subject would panic and quite a lot of them even drowned. Once the water reached my neck, I took a deep breath and submerge under it.
While I wasn't showing it, I was scared. But I needed to remain as calm as I could to try and maintain my oxygen in my lungs as long as possible. A couple of minutes later, all the water in the room got drained and I was gasping for air
"Congratulations, subject nº 777. You survived the test. Now, return to your chamber until the guard call you for the next test," said the megaphone.
The door in front of me opened and two soldiers were waiting for me, pointing their weapons at me. I followed them and eventually, they locked me up in my chamber. Once I know for certain that all the guards left me, I opened a loose panel on the ground and put my hands on the concrete below. After a couple of seconds, handprints started to form on the concrete from my acidic side effect and create a bigger hole under the tile.
While I was busy with getting rid of the acid in my system, a hidden door opened and my only friend entered my chamber.
