Chapter 3 -The Search-

As the Sun started to rise over the horizon, the Squid Sisters, along with Agent 3, 4 and 8, started to make their way towards the shady side of Inkopolis. They were determined to find 'The Midnight Ghost' and at least thank them proplerly for his actions, back in Hammerhead Bridge. The Squid Sisters were in normal clothes with hoodies to cover their appearance in this side of the city.

"Is everyone ready to go?" Callie asked.

"Yeah, I'm even prepared in case something bad happens," said Agent 3 as he pulled out his Hero Shot.

"Alright then, let's go," said Marie as everyone started to make their way through the city.

The pair of Inklings and Octoling quickly discovered why it's known as the shady side of Inkopolis. All the shops are broken in, closed or abandoned. The same condition applied to some of the apartments that were around. There were some homeless people here and there, but the group made sure to stay away from them as long as possible. As they continued to look of the manhole, but the search was a hard one. About an hour and a half has passed and they still didn't find it. Irritated, they all took a break from the search.

"*Sigh* You would think that it's not too hard to find a manhole, right?" Callie said in a tired tone.

"I don't know what to say, Callie. But it doesn't help that we don't know how this side of Inkopolis is structured," Agent 4 explained, and Agent 8 just nodded.

The two female agents then looked at their surroundings, making sure that they weren't being followed. Instead, they noticed someone starring at them from one of the abandoned buildings.

"Everything alright?" Marie asked.

"I'm not sure, but we are being spied on," Agent 3 said in an almost whispered tone.

Everyone nodded and they started to continue their search again, but this time with more cautions. While they try their best to find that manhole, they still have the feeling of being followed. Eventually, the group was met with a dead end and as they made their way out of it, they came face to face with a group of three punks. Agent 3, 4 and 8 quickly pulled out their Hero Shot and aimed them to the punks.

"Look what we got here, guys. A group of 'visitors'," said the leader of the punks.

"We do not wish to cause any trouble," said Callie, in a nervous tone.

"We're just looking for someone," said Marie in her calm tone.

"Yeah right," said one of the goons.

"And who would that be?" said the second goon.

"The Midnight Ghost," said the Squid Sisters at the same time.

The moment they heard that name, everyone froze for a moment.

"Get them," said the leader in a serious tone.

The goons pulled out their knifes and made their way towards them. As the three agents were about to shoot, a Splash Wall appeared in front of the group. What caught everyone's attention was that the ink that was spraying out was black.

The group of punks started to get scared, since they knew who it belongs to. When they were about to run, they got hit by an Inkzooka, knocking them all to the wall. The search group was shocked by what was happening, since they aren't the ones who are fighting. As the punks are trying to recover, a black Inkling started to walk towards. The Squid Sisters and the three agents where shock to see who it was, 'The Midnight Ghost'.
