Karl Kjer of Newark, New Jersey, enjoys spending time outdoors whenever he can, including cycling and hiking. He is a skilled fisherman and has always maintained an aquarium. Kjer is a prominent instructor of entomology, who is currently serving as a visiting professor at Rutgers University.
