Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire sighed as they sat on the wagon Mr. Poe was driving through the fields of Anvonlea, taking in the tranquillity of the ride. They had escaped from Count Olaf and were safe. For now.
"Here we go children," Mr. Poe said as the wagon slowed down to a stop outside a beautiful and rather large house, looking very unlike the lugubrious ones that surrounded it on Lousy Lane.
"Aren't you coming in with us?" Klaus asked as he got off the wagon, helping his sister - who was holding Sunny - down.
"Oh no, I have business at the bank, but, good luck," The man coughed before directing the horse away.
"Well that's helpful," Sunny gargled and the older two Baudelaires shared a look before turning to the house and the boy knocked on the door.
Upon knocking, the door swung open nearly immediately and the children were greeted with the sight of an Italian man with a rather twirly moustache.
"Hello children!" He greeted with in an enthusiastic tone to his voice, making a wave of calm instantly wash over the three.
"Hello," Violet greeted, "I am Violet Baudelaire and these are my siblings Klaus and Sunny," The brunette greeted.
The man smiled, "My name is Dr. Montgomery Montgomery, but you can call me Monty, Uncle Monty - when we get to know each other a bit more of course,"
The Baudelaires smiled at each other, maybe living in Anvonlea wouldn't be so unfortunate after all.
