"Klaus, could you come here for a minute, please," Ms. Caliban called after school finished.
The middle Baudelaire child walked up to his teacher, a questioning look on his face.
"As you know, Duncan and Isadora weren't here today, so I'd like you go to their house and give them their books, please," The woman smiled, handing the boy four books.
"I'd be happy to, Ms," Klaus smiled, taking the books from the woman's hand and walking over to his sister, who was waiting for him by the doorway of the schoolhouse.
"What was that about?" Violet asked Klaus.
"Ms. Caliban wants me to take these to Duncan and Isadora, which is in the other direction to the house, so, you're going to have to walk back by yourself. Is that alright?" Klaus asked the brunette.
"That's fine, have fun with Isadora," Violet smiled as she did up the last few buttons of her coat, picked up the food basket and left the schoolhouse.
"And Duncan!" Klaus called out after her.
"Sure!" Violet cried back, not glancing back at him.
Klaus let out a huff, grabbing his coat and exiting the building.
The walk to Quagmire residence wasn't as long as it was to the Montgomery house, which made Klaus smile slightly as he knocked on the front door.
The oak door swung open to reveal Isadora - who held a shocked look on her face.
"Klaus, hey, how are you?" The Quagmire asked, slightly confused as to why the glass clad boy stood on her door step.
"I'm doing well Isadora, how are you?" Klaus asked the brunette.
"I'm fine, thank you," Isadora smiled, "I don't mean to sound rude, but, what are you doing here?" The girl asked.
"Oh, um, I'm here to give you and Duncan your books," The Baudelaire boy answered, extending his arm and giving Isadora the four books he had travelled all this way for.
"Oh, thank you," Isadora smiled, taking the school books from his hands, "You're a really nice person, Klaus," The Quagmire triplet said, making the boy smile before she tentatively got up on her tip toes and gave the boy a light kiss on the cheek, causing Klaus' eyed to wide and his cheeks to tinge a light pink, as did Isadora's.
"How-How's your Grandmother?" Klaus asked after clearing his throat, slightly flustered after what had just happened.
"She's fine, thank you," Isadora told him, "She just had a bit of a fever this morning, so Duncan and I decided to stay here for the day and look after her, that's all," Isadora brushed off.
"Oh, well, that's good news then," Klaus smiled and Isadora returned it as the two just stood there in the doorway, smiling at each other.
"Oh! Um, do you want to come in?" Isadora asked, "Maybe even stay for a little bit?" She said, hopefulness lacing her voice, making Klaus smile at the girl.
"I would love to," He smiled as he and Isadora entered the house.
