"Jin, I don't know what it is, but I keep seeing the same girl in all of  my dreams." I sigh, confiding in my hyung. Jin is my roommate. Kim Seokjin, the best friend a person could ever ask for. He's a couple years older than me, but we get along well. He's like an older brother to me. "It's always the same girl too. And they all end the same, with me seeing her and then she's gone, or I wake up. They are never the same dream but those two things are always consistent."

"That's weird, and you're sure that you've never seen her anywhere else in your life ever?"

"Never." I sigh and lean back in my chair. "How am I seeing someone I've never met in my dreams? It doesn't make any sense at all."

"I don't know. It really doesn't make any sense." Jin shrugs. "I wish I knew, though. Sorry man." Jin pats my shoulder on his way out of the room.

"I think I need to rest," I mumble to myself.

☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️

I'm falling. There's no light, but I can feel gravity pulling me downwards. It feels like I may never stop. I just keep falling and falling and falling.

As I fall deeper, I hear rushing water. Two seconds after I hear the rush of the water, I hit something. It feels like a brick wall at first, but then it engulfs me. That's when I know it's water, not a brick wall.

It takes me about three seconds to get my composure and to start trying to swim my way back up to the surface. It's still pitch dark. I can't rely on my sight. So, I rely on every other sensory receptor. I grab in front of me, trying to find something solid. All I hear is the rush of the water as it goes passed my ears.

When I reach the surface, I tread the water for a minute trying to catch my breath, if only just a little bit. Then I start swimming forward, away from where I hear the rushing water, hoping that I've made the right choice.

I've been swimming for about 10 minutes now, I think. It feels like it's been hours, though. When I think that maybe I did go the wrong way, I feel something touch my foot. I'm scared at first, thinking perhaps it's something in the water that's about to eat me for dinner. So I swim faster, but as I go forward, I start to notice it's a constant touch, like the ground. I stop swimming and try to set my feet down. It's still pretty deep, but that is definitely solid ground. I laugh in relief. Finding the ground has made a newfound burst of energy in me, and I start swimming faster than before. It takes me about five minutes to reach a point where I can stand comfortably on the ground where the water reaches my chest and no higher. That's when I decide to slowly walk along the waterbed to preserve my last bit of energy. When I finally reach the bank, I flop myself down on my stomach, close my eyes, and lay there.

When I open my eyes I'm no longer in a dark place, but a very bright place. I'm on a bed. It's not my bed, it's foreign to me. Everything is alien to me. I achingly lift my torso from the bed and look around the room. There's only one small chair here besides the bed that I am occupying. I bring my legs to the side of the bed, ready to get up when the door opens. A girl, the girl, comes inside the now open door. Then she shakes her head at me and sighs. She hands me a glass of water and smiles. I take the water and drink it immediately, feeling parched. I finish the water and give her the empty glass. She pushes my shoulder, which I take as her telling me to lay back down. As I lay back, I watch as she leaves. Then the door closes.
