I have a perpetual smile all the way back to the apartment. She actually agreed. This is probably the happiest I've been in my life. probably almost ever.
I step into the doorway and yell for Jin through the entrance hallway. I get no answer in return. I search the house hoping he'd be there somewhere but he was nowhere to be found. I need to talk to him about all this. I have no experience with girls and relationships and all that stuff. I don't know when I should text her. I don't know when is too early for that kind of stuff. I want to text her now but, wouldn't that be coming on a little strong? Or would that make me seem uninterested?
So I call him. The dial tone rings a couple times before he finally picks up.
"What?" I scrunch my eyebrows at his harsh bluntness.
"Where are you, hyung?"
"Out." I didn't like how short he was being with me, I didn't do anything to make him mad that I know of so he has no reason to be angry with me.
"Well, I need to talk to you about something. When will you be back?" I say with a little attitude because of his shortness with me.
"About cafe girl?"
"Her name is MiHi, but yes."
"I'll be home in two hours probably." Then he hangs up without a goodbye.
I spend the next three hours impatiently waiting for him to arrive. I tried to do things that would keep me occupied, but nothing was really working. It didn't help that he was gone an hour longer than he said he would be. I played games on my phone until I either beat them or got tired of them. I watched a drama for about twenty minutes then turned it off. I tried to do some homework, but I couldn't focus enough to even finish writing my name. I tried to play online games on the computer which usually works but it definitely didn't this time.
Finally, he walks through the door and puts down his keys. "Finally!" I yell at him. "You were gone for three hours, not two."
"Oh, I'm sorry, mom." He said while sitting on the couch. "Well, talk." He gestures to the chair across the room, so I go and I sit in it.
"So she gave me her number, and I don't know when I'm supposed to text her? When is too early?"
"You got the number from her what? Four hours ago?"
"Uh...about."
"Do it now." He shrugs and stands up.
"Now? It's not too early?"
"No. Just do it and stop stressing over what she'll think of you, she obviously likes you enough to give you her number. She's probably eagerly waiting for the text right now and maybe even a little discouraged that it hasn't come yet."
"Okay," I say. Jin walks out and goes to his room, shaking his head, probably at me. I grab my phone and look at the screen for a second before unlocking it. I already added her contact information in when I was waiting for Jin to finally get home. I open my messaging app and begin to text her.
What do I say, though?
I decide to go with a simple "Hey MiHi."
