☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️

I'm sitting alone on a swing in the park. I walked here from my house. I had no reasoning, I just needed a walk and this is where I ended up. I decide maybe I should take another lap around the park to pass some time. Time for what I don't know but my body is already moving down the beaten path before I have time to really think about it.

I see squirrels and chipmunks, some birds, even a small turtle, but the one thing that I did not see was people. I'm alone at this park; there's not a soul in sight. It's a beautiful day, why aren't there any children running around happily playing on the slides and swings? The park isn't rundown or old, it seems to have relatively new equipment, so there's no hazard to children here. This should be where parents want to bring their children on a nice day like this. There's even an ice cream truck.

I walk over to the vehicle, hoping to find someone to tell me why the park is so empty today. When I reach the truck, I am welcomed with an empty cab.Where is everyone?

I take this moment to get some ice cream since it's there. I feel wrong just taking it, so I leave some money on the counter. Maybe someone will show up eventually.

I continue down the narrow pathway quietly eating my ice cream scanning the scenery. I finally decide this is a waste of my time and begin to make my way back home. When I'm almost out of the park, a dog comes running toward me. It's a cute dog; it's medium-sized black and white in color. It has a cute little face that's half white with small black dots.

"Hello, little guy, what's your name?" I ask the dog quietly while petting it. "Where's your owner at you can't be here all alone?" I grab the leash off the ground. Right as I so this, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I look up to be met with a smiling girl. She speaks, yet I can't hear a thing she says. I can only see her mouth move. She seems to be saying that this is her dog because she keeps gesturing towards it as she talks. "He's cute," I tell her as I hand her the leash. She says something else, but the only thing I can understand is 'girl.' The dog must be a girl, not a boy, she's correcting me. I begin to put out my hand to shake her's and introduce myself.

The morning sun shines brightly through my window, blinding me the second my eyes open from the dream.
