"Eomma?" A small voice whispers.
"Oh, my sweet girl. I'm so glad you're okay." Mrs. Park wrapped her arms around her daughter in a big hug. As she pulled away, I could see more tears streaming down Mrs. Park's cheeks following along the stains from earlier. Except these tears were different from the ones, earlier these were tears of complete joy and happiness and relief.
"Hi." Is the only thing MiHi replied to her mother. Mrs. Park rubbed MiHi's hand, lovingly.
"Do you-do you remember what happened?" I felt like I was intruding slightly, but I stayed because I wanted to know her answer. I was sitting in a chair close to the door just watching them speak to each other. MiHi still hadn't noticed my presence. MiHi sat there quietly for the longest time, not answering her mother, thinking.
"I think..." MiHi brought her hand up to her face and rubbed her temple. "I fell down the stairs, right? Kang Dae and I were arguing, and then I fell. That's all I remember. I'm not really sure how I fell I just remember rolling down the stairs." She closed her eyes and sighed.
"Kang Dae pushed you lightly. That's how you fell. He tried to catch you right as he noticed you going down, but he missed you." Mrs. Park was looking down at MiHi's wrapped arm.
MiHi still had her eyes closed as she spoke, "Where is he?" she laid her head back onto the pillow.
"Don't worry about that right now. You should rest sweetie."
"No Mo-" MiHi lifted her head and opened her eyes ready to protest her mother when she finally noticed me. "Jungkook?" she asked, scrunching her brow.
"Hey." Is all I said in return. Hey? What kind of person says hey as the first thing they say to their friend that just got out surgery?
"You came to see me? How did you find out?" MiHi sat up a bit straighter.
"I'm going to leave you two alone for a bit." Mrs. Park said quietly as she walked out of the room. I sighed. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you. I barely believe it myself."
"Humor me." MiHi pointed to the chair that her mother was just in signifying that she wanted me to move there.
As I stood up and went to the chair, I took a deep breath. "So I had a dream last night... and in it, you had gotten hurt, and there were ambulances, and you got brought out on a gurney. It was horrible. When I woke up, I just had this uneasy feeling, and I texted you, but you never answered. I went to the cafe, and you weren't there either. I started to panic a little, I didn't even have a reason I was just so scared that you were hurt. So I decided somehow I was going to find your house to make sure you were okay but then.." I paused and rubbed my face with my hands, they came away wet. Was I crying?
"Then?" MiHi urged me on.
"Then I did have to search for your house because just like in my dream an ambulance and cop car went passed me, and somehow I knew I needed to follow them. Then my dream just started to play out right in front of my eyes. Your small house. You on the gurney." MiHi's hand came up to my face and wiped a tear from my cheek, and she smiled.
"That is quite unbelievable." she laughed. "But somehow I actually believe you. Why are you crying though, I'm okay." She laid back down as she said this. I could tell she was getting tired."I just remembered how scared I was and how happy I am that you are okay now. You need to get some rest." She just simply nodded. I watched as she slipped into unconsciousness. I grabbed her and squeezed it before I stood up. "Rest well, MiHi." I felt her hand wrap around mine tighter. I tried to get loose, but she wasn't letting go. So I just sat back down in the chair and held her hand.
