Alex's POV

I take a deep breath and open my eyes. The pink negative sign makes me sigh

in satisfaction. I feel Niall's strong arms wrap around my waist and he presses a quick kiss to my neck.

"I would like to be married to you before we have anymore kids." I tell him and he nods against my shoulder, pressing light kisses to my neck.

"Marry me, then." I almost choke on my breath.

"What?" I squeak.

"Marry me, Alex. Would you spend the rest of your life with me?" I'm at a loss for words. He unwraps him arms from my waist and drops onto one knee. No, this can't be happening.

"I know I don't have a ring. But, I'm whiling to give up everything to spend my life with you and Kaylee. Just, marry me. Alex, don't think, just do." My body is frozen in time. Marry him...

"Niall.." I can't marry him. Not yet, not now. He shows a look of hurt on his face and pushes off his knee.

"I get it. You don't want to spend the rest of your life with me. Then why are we even trying, Alex? So we can just get hurt in the end? What's the point of love if it's not forever?" He stalks off into the other room and I shake my head, chasing after him.

"You didn't let me finish." I speak. His back is facing me and he doesn't turn around as he speaks.

"What's there to say? While I'm falling deeper in love with you each day you've already ruled me out. Why are we still at this as if it isn't forever. Why do you keep playing me like a gam-"

"I'll marry you!" I cut him off. He stops and slowly turns around. His eyes are red-rimmed, which explains why he wouldn't look at me.

"What?"

"You heard me. I'll marry you. You're right, what's love if it's not forever?" He smiles and rushes towards me, collecting me in his arms and picking me up off my feet, his lips clash with mine as he spins we around the room.

"I love you." He promises.

"I love you." I reply.

"I can't believe you told him about your dad." I tell Millie and take another sip of water.

"I didn't even tell him all the horrible shit he's done." It's crazy what my Bestfriend's went through.

"So, I have to talk to you." I tell her and she smiles.

"Shoot." My hands become clammy and I rub them against my shorts.

"Niall asked me to marry him this morning." I close my eyes. "I was about to reject and he could tell and he went crazy talking about how we should just forget it now if we ain't gonna be together forever. He was flipping out! So, I.. kinda... agreed.." When I open my eyes her jaw is on the floor.

"Alex!" She shouts.

"I know, I know. I wasn't thinking clearly! He was yelling and screaming and he wanted to break up and I couldn't lose him again so I had to say yes!" She shakes her head at me.

"You can't back out, now. Do you want to marry him? In the future, I mean."

"Yes! I'm completely in love with Niall. It's just, you know why now isn't a good time to make this big of a commitment. What if it doesn't work out? I don't believe in divorce, Millie. And if I'm leaving for a year how the hell are we gonna get married?" She shrugs her shoulders, pulling her vibrating phone out of her pocket.
