Dear Rue,
This is the first letter I write you after coming back home, in district 12. I know that I probably shouldn't call it like that anymore: Snow's dead and the Games with him.
But not fast enough, not enough to save you, to keep you safe under your beloved trees.
You know, every spring when the Meadow's full of that beautiful yellow that reminds me of you, I go into the woods, and I light a fire, just to make a little smoke.
Then I start whistling our song, the one we used to sing to know that we were safe. And I wait.
I wait till it's late in the evening and I walk back home with the mockingjays still repeating our four notes, but they'll never be you. They can't replace your voice.
When I first saw you, I thought of my little sister, Prim. Now she left me too, because of something nobody had the courage to do earlier: start a riot. That's why I can't forgive, because people, the same people I fought for, didn't learn from the mistakes made, and nearly did something similar to what many died because of. But I've got two bright lights that guide me through the dark: yours and Prim's, and together they remind me of what my purpose was and what It has to be. To remember. To make people remember what they did to us, and that even though they took our childhood, we made it to get through the pain.
Thank you my sweet Rue that shines during spring, from a Girl on Fire who turned into ashes long time ago.
"Did you like it? Yes? You want more? Then remember to vote! So it's a lot easier for me to know if you liked it or not and maybe change a few things :)
Byeee "
