Hey little warrior,
(Because that's what you are, now aren't you?) I wanted to write you something, even though you may not know me.
There's a really close friend of mine here who would like to meet you, but now's not the right time. Just know that you're not alone, that Carstairs are not alone.
Well, girl, I wish I could help you through this and say that eventually you'll get over it: but that would be a lie, and I'm the worst liar.
I know how it feels.
I know because I lost them all too.
And I wouldn't say this if I didn't know for sure that there are still things to fight for, that love still exists even when you think you feel none.
Love is a very strange feeling, let me tell you, because it's not something you choose and definitely not someone like us could hope for: but it's so good to fall in love with someone, or just love a friend in the same way you'd love a brother.
Let me tell you a story about two very different boys who happened to train together: a dark boy with a really sad past and one with a big loss to bear.
They disliked each other at the beginning but when they realised how they needed the other to keep going, they started to be inseparable.
Since that day they haven't stopped loving each other like the half part of them they thought was long gone. And even now, when ashes are the only things left of them, their memories still manage to light that unbearable pain I feel on those day of grief.
They were like brothers even though they didn't share blood.
Think of how many things life had taken from them and of the fact that they still loved each other, even if love was unknown to them.
Just trust your friends, Emma.
They'll always be there for you.
Love,
Tessa
