Actually gorgeous
"I brought cake!" I announce once I walk through the door to Calum and Luke's apartment. I find them both in the kitchen.
"Hey," Calum greets me, placing a kiss on my cheek and leaving an arm sling over my shoulders as he takes the cake box from my hands to put down onto the counter.
"Bless you," Luke gushes and he moves to grab us a fork each.
"Luke, how do you feel about girls with black hair?" I ask as Calum opens the box to reveal three sample cakes.
"Love them."
"How do you feel about the name Emma?"
"Love that too." I shoot him a smile and hand him one of the cakes.
"Then I expected you to call this number as soon as you feel you have the time to." I hand him one of Emma's business cards which I stole from her desk.
"She better be hot," he says before he turns and walks to his room, shutting the door behind him.
"I can't believe you gave him the chocolate ganache one," Calum protests when I turn back to him and the pout on his face makes my heart melt.
"But we got the strawberry mousse one," I tell him. I swipe my finger through the mousse bringing it between my lips, and I keep eye contact until after my finger is clean of it.
Calum seems flustered and in a moment his lips are pressed to mine, both of his hands holding my face. My back hits the countertop and I reach my hand out to dip it into the mousse once again, but this time I bring it to Calum's lips after I pull out of the kiss. He takes my finger between his lips and I feel his tongue lick the product off.
"Delicious," he smirks. "You got some right there." I gasp when he smears mousse down the side of my mouth. "Let me get that for you."
Calum closes the space between us and uses his mouth to get the mousse off before fully attaching his lips to mine once again, and I let out a small yelp when he suddenly lifts me up on the counter. I decide to speak once we have a breather. "We have a lot of cake to get through."
"I'd rather have you."
...
I wake up in Calum's bed feeling recharged. When I reach my arm out for him I hit the covers and I sigh rolling off the bed to walk over to his dresser. I find a black long sleeved T-shirt and I slip it on over my head letting it fall to my mid thigh. I walk around the room because whereas what's in a woman's purse may reveal things about her, a man is determined by his bedroom.
He has a photo of him where he looks to be around fifteen outside of what I presume is his parents's restaurant along with his family. The young girl in the first picture reappears in the frame placed beside it and I gather it's his older sister. Calum is wearing his cap and gown holding onto his diploma and his sister is smiling from ear to ear.
I move on to his sock drawer. Though it's a jumbled up mess I can only see matching pairs so I shrug and move to the beside table on the side of the bed Calum slept on. Condoms, some spare cash, lotion, a tissue box, pens. Nothing about the room strikes me as a red flag so I decide to go look for Calum.
I stop to stand by the entrance to the kitchen to watch as he moves around tending to frying pans and chopping vegetables. I can't help the smile which fights its way through as I watch.
Have I been missing out on mornings like these with every guy I have ever rejected for something as small as holding their fork with the wrong hand?
"Creep." I'm startled when Luke walks behind me having come from his own bedroom and he shoots me a knowing smirk. Luke's voice grabs Calum's attention and he notices me where I am standing. Luke snatches an apple from the fruit bowl on the bar and walks towards the front door. "If Scotty is staying over tonight, remember that the walls are thin!"
Luke shuts the door behind him and I blush profusely at his words. Calum laughs and I walk over to him. "Good morning," he says.
"That was so embarrassing."
Calum wraps his arms around my lower back to pull me closer. "Don't worry about it."
"He heard us," I remind him. "He heard me."
"I'm sure he didn't mind," he jokes and he backs away with a mischievous grin as soon as I go to hit his chest. Even though I am feeling mortified I can't help but laugh with him.
