"NO!" His yell was so loud, everyone around could hear him. His arms were stretched out, desperately reaching for a certain black haired girl who was drowning in the swarm of titans.
She had just jumped in front, getting taken instead, saving his life. But that wasn't what he wanted. He could care less about himself. After all, he lived for the sake of her. If she was going to be dead, then what was the point of living? It would be like the old days. Alone. Silence.
He clenched tight onto his blades, killing the titans on the outside before killing those on the inside. The titans all had their nape sliced off otherwise, sliced into so many pieces, they couldn't possibly regenerate.
He had wished, prayed that he would see the girl still safe and sound, unharmed by the swarm of titans. But to his horror, he broke through the swarm of titans to see half the body of the girl already eaten up. That ache his heart, sending tears down his face. What ached his heart most was to see the girl clenching onto a bell tight in her palm as a soft smile laid on her half eaten face.
He collapsed onto his knees, retrieving the bell from her hands, clenching it in his fist as he saluted to his dead comrade, his lover and his childhood friend, Aki.
Rain started pouring, covering the tears which didn't stop pouring down onto his face. He was kneeling beside her all that time until Erwin came, dragging him away forcefully. They were retreating already. They gathered Aki's dead body, wrapping it up before heading back to the walls. All the way, his face was just dull and dead. Rain was pouring onto his face so they couldn't tell whether he was crying or not. But Erwin knew this event was going to be haunting him for the rest of his life. Erwin understood him well enough. He knew, Aki was the reason Ivel lived and one reason he even joined the survey corps when Erwin asked him to. Erwin knew Ivel loved her, he loved Aki.

Running, running and running.
Jumping, jumping and jumping.
Leaping, leaping and leaping.
Gliding, gliding and gliding.
Rotating, rotating and rotating.
Slicing, slicing and slicing.
A certain short black haired slim figure went on and on, killing titans swiftly, not stopping. Not even to take a breath, his breathing was already really fast. His heart raced as it continued aching. Tears had stopped making its way down his face but internally, he was crying his heart out. His mind was blank, the only one thing he though about was, Aki. The big bright smile she always had on her face despite him always shutting her off, being rude to her and glaring at her.
He killed 25 titans, clearing the way, making it easier for the survey corps to retreat. His moves were absoloutely flawless. However, he was driven by his emotion. Upon killing the 25th titan, he gave out. He allowed himself to fall from at least 10 meters away from ground. He enjoyed the feeling of him losing control of his own body as gravity pulled him closser to the ground. He closed his eyes, not landing on the hard, cold ground. Instead, landing on a strong pair of arms of warmth, rocking back and fourth. He instantly knew where he was. On a horse. Opening his eyes, he saw a familiar blonde with the thickest eye brows, carrying him with an arm while using the other to steer the horse as the horses rushed, towards the gates which was already close by.
"Erwin, let me down." Ivel said, his breath slowing down along with his heartbeat as he calmed himself down.
"We're not taking the usual route. No one is going to see you. Besides, you know yourself, you can't ride right now." Erwin said, not looking away from the gate, the horses still rushing at full speed. He didn't seem worried but Ivel knew he was worried. This wasn't the first time it happened and everytime, he'd end up stretching his muscles too much, exhaustinng himself. He closed his eyes gently and just allowed himself to fall asleep, too tired to bother about the nightmares he had anymore.
Ivel woke up feeling extremely drousy. He took a turn on the mysterious soft material he was laying on. He opened his eyes slightly to find a dark room, opposite of wherever he was was a cupboard. The warmth of his bed was really appealing, making him want to stay in bed despite having the risk of nightmares returning to him once again. But despite that, he still forced himself out of bed. He changed into a fresh pair of clothes, folding his bedsheets neatly.
His whole body was soar and his ankle hurt. He wondered whether how many muscles he had torn this time. Almost his whole body was wrapped in bandages, only a few parts were exposed to fresh air.
He exit his room, gently closing the door behind him, not wanting to wake anyone up. He took a walk around the dormitory as he expected, everyone was asleep. It was midnight after all. He slowly made his way up staircases, limping slightly due to his ankle, making his way to the floor above his rooms'. It was where his favourite place was. The roof.
Little did he expect to see a small black haired figure who mirrored himself to be there. He was sitting, more like laying against the wall while he stared into the stars. Ivel sighed, doing the same as Levi. It was just a coincident that he felt like doing that too. Silence fell as the two twins spent their time staring into stars.
Cricket chipping. Owls hooting. Those were soft common sounds you'd ignore in the night but here, it wall loud, clearly emphasizing the silence.
"...Did you really leave with Kenny that day?" Levi asked calmly, not taking his eyes off the stars, his voice still as detached as ever.
"I did. He brought me above ground and left me with nothing." Ivel rolled his eyes, further sinking onto the ground, getting comfortable.
"Say, do you think he's dead yet?" Ivel said, laughing a little. They still didn't make eye contact, still looking away from each other. From just their voices, I would've sounded like they were talking to themselves.
Levi huffed following with a small laugh. "You think an idiot like him can die?"
"Hah, you're right. So, you've spent your time with those friends of yours?" Ivel said, bringing his stretched out legs close to his body before burying his face in it.
"What about you?" Levi said, slipping down even more, almost completely laying on the ground.
"A girl. And thick eye brows. Other times, alone." Ivel's voice echoing through the space between his body and legs. Levi glanced over but he couldn't see Ivel's face, neither could Ivel see Levi's.
"Your girlfriend?" Levi added some enthusiasm into his question. His heart full of curiosity on what his twin brother had been doing, experiencing all the while when he was stuck underground. There was no reply to his question. Levi decided perhaps it was a dark secret of his twin and didn't pursue further, instead changed the topic.
"How've you been sleeping?" Levi spoke again, once again breaking the silence. The twins both had problem with sleeping ever since their mother passed away. Levi knew that hadn't change ever since he was a child which was also a reason why he was particularly short.
"Same as always, maybe even worst. You?" Ivel replied, still not lifting his head from his knees.
"As bad as it's always been." Levi sighed, getting up on his foot, stretching himself. "You're rather talkative today aren't you?"
"Speak for yourself. I've always been talkative." Ivel huffed, getting up too, walking off while Levi was still stretching. "Conversations are always better without having to yell your ass off don't you agree?"
Levi glared at him, laughing internally. Ivel wasn't wrong, he actually enjoyed this conversation. They didn't fight, neither did they yell, it was peaceful and calm and he admit, he sort of liked it.
He stood there as the moon which was previously covered by dark clouds was now visible. The bright moonlight shone onto his face as he stared into the dark sky.
