"Have you noticed Mark's mood change lately?" Scott asks as he sits in the living room with Mason.
"What do you mean?" Mason asks as he looks over at Scott.
"I mean," Scott sighs. "He just seems... a little down, you know?"
"Well, who could blame him? He's stuck up there in the bed, unable to talk to anyone or go anywhere. That's a good reason to be a little depressed," Mason says.
"I guess so," Scott replies before he stands up from the couch.
"Where are you going?" Mason asks, raising his eyebrows as he looks up at Scott.
"Well, I think I'm gonna go to the store and get a couple of Mark's favorite things. He deserves it, after all. This pregnancy has been really tough on him," Scott says.
Mason smiles. "Do you mind if I tag along?" He asks, also standing up.
"Of course I don't mind," Scott grins. "I'll go get the car ready, you go tell Mark we're leaving."
"Okay, I'll meet you down there in a minute" Mason says, heading up the stairs. He makes his way towards the bedroom. Once he gets to the doorway of the bedroom, he stops and looks inside. He sees Mark sitting up on the bed, his laptop beside him with twitter opened.
Now that Mason is staring at him, he can definitely see what Scott is talking about, and he hates that Mark is feeling like this. He hopes that this little gesture will cheer him up.
Mason takes a deep breath before walking into the bedroom. "Hey," he greets.
Mark looks over and smiles when he sees Mason, excited to see someone. "Hey. What are you doing?"
"Scott and I are gonna head to the store-" Mason says, walking over to the bed.
"Oh," Mark frowns slightly. He can't help but feel a little disappointed and upset.
"I was just wondering if there was anything you need from the store while we're out," Mason says, instantly notices Mark's excitement change. "Anything for the babies we might need?"
Mark shakes his head. "I'm fine. But, I'll text you if I think of anything," he tells him.
"Okay," Mason leans down and kisses Mark softly. "Call us immediately if anything happens. We're at the point of the pregnancy where anything can happen at any given time."
"I know," Mark says. "I haven't felt any contractions yet so I don't think today is the day," Mark says.
Mason chuckles and kisses him again. "I love you," he says, before walking out of the bedroom. He puts on his shoes and then makes his way down to the car, where Scott's waiting for him. Mason walks over to the car and gets in, sighing as he looks over at Scott. "Wow. You were right."
"What was I right about?" Scott asks, looking over at Mason.
"Mark," Mason says. "I've never seen him look so down before. I hate seeing him like that."
Scott frowns. "I know. I'm sure he'll feel much better once the babies come," he says.
Mason nods, and then takes out his phone, wanting to have it out at all times in case something happens. He always hates leaving Mark alone in the house, especially this late in the pregnancy.
Mason and Scott spend about an hour out, getting a bunch of little goodies for Mark to cheer him up.
When they get home, Scott is surprised to see Mark in the kitchen.
"Hey, what are you doing out of bed?" Scott asks, walking over to Mark with bags in his hands.
Mark blinks a few times as he looks over at Scott. "What? I got hungry," he says, taking a bite of a chocolate chip cookie. "We don't have any food in this house."
"You're not supposed to be out of bed," Scott sighs.
"Walking down the stairs isn't gonna kill me," Mark rolls his eyes. "Besides, I'm sick of lying in that bed, and staring at the wall. There's nothing to do and nobody to talk to."
"Why don't you call one of our friends?" Scott suggests.
"Because no one wants to hear me complain about how much I hate being pregnant," Mark says. "Or, anyone I talk to... they always ask about the twins. I just wanna talk about something else."
"Hey, what are you doing out of bed?" Mason asks when he walks into the house.
"Oh my God," Mark rolls his eyes, and then grabs the plate he had and walks out of the kitchen.
"What happened?" Mason asks, looking over at Scott.
Scott sighs. "It was only a matter of time before he got bored to death of being in that bedroom. We should be easier on him. I know we want to make sure the twins come at the right time but, there's still a few weeks left of the pregnancy. Anyone would get sick of constantly sitting in the same spot."
"But that's what the doctor said," Mason sighs. "We're just doing what we're told to do."
"Well, let's go show him what we got," Scott says, before walking into the living room.
Mark looks over when he hears footsteps. "If you came here to yell at me, I don't wanna hear it,"
"No," Scott laughs, and sets the bags on the table. He walks over to Mark. "Sit," he says, before helping Mark sit down on the couch. He takes the plate from Mark and sets it on the table.
"Hey," Mark complains. "Don't you know not to take food from a pregnant man?"
"Well, we got something better for you. Mase!"
"I'm right here," Mason says as he walks into the living room. He walks over and sits on the other side of Mark. "Look, we know how bored you must be, and I wish there was something more we could do."
"But, we went to the store... and picked out a bunch of things that might help you from being bored from the rest of the pregnancy," Scott adds. He reaches into the bag and pulls out a couple of books. "These... are a bunch of different puzzles for you to do. There's word searches, crosswords, sudoku,"
"You guys didn't have to do this," Mark says as he looks over at Mason.
"Yes, we did," Mason leans forward and kisses him. "And, that's not all..."
"There's more?" Mark's eyes widen. "Don't tell me you spent a bunch of money on me."
Scott grins. "What? Of course we did," he reaches over and kisses Mark's cheek. "Because, you've been so great during this pregnancy. We just wanted to spoil you for once. We love you, Marky."
Mark can't help but smile. "I love you too, both of you," He leans back against Mason, smiling bigger when Mason wraps his arms around him and rests his hands on the baby bump. He can't help but feel incredibly lucky to have two men that love him and spoil him like this.
