Trigger Warnings: attempted sexual assault

****

Scott can't help but feel like time is moving way too fast for his liking.

The twins were turning one in just a couple of weeks. They're already crawling and making noises, and Scott just wishes time would slow down so he can have a second to catch up with it all.

"You sent out all the invitations, right?" Mark asks as he stands in the kitchen with Scott.

"Sent them out this morning," Scott replies as he puts another glass in the cabinet.

Mark looks over at Scott and frowns, instantly knowing that something is wrong by the sound of his voice. "Hey, what's wrong?" He walks over to Scott and gently grabs him to get his attention.

"What?" Scott asks, blinking a few times as he looks over at Mark.

"You've been working all day non-stop. Have you taken a break at all?" Mark asks worriedly.

"I can't. There's so much to do. The house is never cleaned, and there's so much to do for the party!"

"The party is a week away-"

"Yeah, and I want everything to be perfect. Turning one year old is a big deal," Scott says, sighing. "There's still so much we have to buy and order. What if things don't get here on time?"

"Then, so what? I don't care if the party is perfect or not. I just want everybody to have a good time, and celebrate our babies. Scott, you're stressing yourself out. We've talked about this before," Mark says.

"I guess we just have different mindsets," Scott mumbles as he continues doing the dishes.

Mark rolls his eyes. "Well, we need to be on the same page-" He reaches over and he turns off the sink, and pulls Scott away. "You need to take a break, and relax. Please, for me?"

Scott looks over at Mark. "Mark, there's too much to do-"

"And we'll do them," Mark slowly starts pulling Scott out of the kitchen by pulling at his hand.

"Is he overworking again?" Mason asks as he walks down the stairs, Shane in his arms.

"The dishes need to be done!" Scott complains as Mark drags him to the living room. "Mark-"

"Don't 'Mark' me, mister," Mark gently pushes Scott down on the couch, and then straddles his lap. "You're taking a break, and then we'll talk more about the party. Understood?"

Scott smirks as he looks up at Mark. "Yes sir,"

Mark grins, and leans down to kiss Scott a few times. "Good," he whispers.

"Hey, watch it. There's a baby present," Mason warns as he sets Shane down.

Mark pulls away from Scott and smiles when he sees Shane. "Being fussy, huh? Elijah napping?"

"Yeah, 'cos Elijah actually listens to me. God, I'm so not prepared for the terrible twos," Mason groans and falls down onto the chair. "Shane doesn't listen at all. I know he's a baby, but..."

"We're trying our best," Mark slides off of Scott and looks over at Mason.

"Yeah, Mase-" Scott pushes himself up. "Things aren't perfect, but at least the twins happy and healthy. That's all that really matters." He looks over at Shane and smiles as he watches him crawl over to him and Mark. He bends down and picks up Shane. "We still love you, even if you are a pain in the butt sometimes." He kisses Shane's cheek, causing Shane to giggle.
