Elijah

I get hit on all the time. Well not like all the time all the time. But often enough that I shouldn't be awkward when it happens. I live for the day when I'm able to take compliments without being awkward.

But unfortunately today is not that day. My hands found they're way to the pockets of my hoodie as I gave the cute boy at the door a lopsided smile.

He was the same skin color as Thea, they also shared the same eye color, same hair texture. But as he flashed his award winning smile at me, I could easily differentiate the perfectly straight teeth and dimples from Thea.

He's cute.

I was pulled from my thoughts by a hand hand hitting my leg. It was Kayson telling me I was taking to long to respond.

"Oh uh..um. T-Thea. We're here to see Thea."

The boy smirked. "You could always--"

"I told you I got the door idiot." Thea appeared, yanking the boy away from the door by the back of his shirt.

"And I told you she's cute so I got the door." I heard him call back, now out our view.

I looked down at Kayson and we both snickered.

Although we couldn't see either of them I could infer from the various sounds of hitting that they were now fighting.

"Theadora Joy Anderson! Josiah Lee Anderson Jr! What the hell are y'all doing? And why is my front door open assholes?!"

Oh. Our smiles went running from the hills.

"Josiah started it!"

"What? No I--Mama--"

"You think you too grown to get yo ass whoop Siah?!"

"What?! Ma Thea--"

"Who you whating asshole?"

"Nobody. Mama you now I love you. You wouldn't hit your only son woul--Oww. Mamaaa!"

I couldn't see what was happening but I wanted to laugh so hard. Also I was kinda scared.

"Haha. That's what you get....heyy Eli, how you doing girl." Thea appeared at the door again, smiling.

Her curly hair that was loosely tossed in a ponytail a second ago was now wildly caressing her shoulders and upper back and she was breathing hard but other than that it was the same Thea from a couples hours ago at school.

"Hey. I'm good." I pulled her into a hug. Once we released I turned to Kayson who was looking at Thea with curious eyes. "And this is my little brother, Kayson."

"Hello Kayson." She beamed, squating to his level. "I'm Thea."

"Hi." He smiled brightly.

"Well aren't you just adorable. You know, I have a little sister who's six too. Her name is Gabby."

Kase just smiled, unsure of what to say to that.

"Thea closed my damn door before I kick yo a--!! Well hello there dear." My eyes landed on a very pregnant and very pretty light skinned women as Thea pulled us into the house and shut the door. She beamed, her voice transitioning into something sweet and polite as she spoke to me. "I didn't know Thea was having company over." She glared, at her daughter.

I chuckled nervously at the fact that she went from yelling about kicking asses to this so fast.

Then again she is pregnant so her nood swings are justified.
