Elijah

I'm so sorry. ~1:10 am
I wasn't thinking, and that's no excuse. I shouldn't have said it. ~1:14 am
Please forgive me, I'll do anything to make it up to you. ~1:20 am.
Can you at least let me know that you made it home safely? ~1:49 am.
Elijah please, can you stop declining my calls? ~2:33 am.
Tell me what to do and I'll do it. I want to make this right. ~2:36 am.
I'm sorry, for everything. I take full responsibility, just talk to me. Pleaseee. ~2:40.

I took a deep breath and locked the phone. They say ignoring your problems doesn't get you anywhere and I totally agree. I didn't want to get anywhere with this though. I trusted Carter and although he didn't mean to tell all those people that we slept together, he did.

And I have to live with that now, not him.

I have to deal with everyone's judging eyes and defamation, not him.

I was 'that girl' now, not him.

"It'll be alright." Thea piped. "Who cares what they think anyway?"

I do. I care. Unfortunately.

"Yeah." I smiled, but it didn't reach my eyes. This week suddenly felt obnoxiously long and I desperately wanted it to be Friday. Correction I wanted it to be Saturday so I wouldn't have to here right now.

On the up side, next is our last week before we take midterm exams and go on winter break.

I'm almost halfway done with my senior year.

What a refreshing thought.

We got out the car, and the sudden temperature drop took me by surprise as it did when we left Theadora house this morning.

The cold front really took it's time this year considering we're in December now. And 60 degree weather may not be "cold" to some but in Florida it felt like scarf and ear muff season.

Alright that's me being dramatic but Floridians definitely of cold is a joke to some people.

My natural hair was out again and I think it's going to make many more appearances in the near future. I'm learning the way it works and experiencing different hairstyles and such. And I genuinely enjoying it.

Today it was just in two cornrows. The braids stopped just under my collar bone. I did my edges and filled in my eyebrows for makeup. I didn't even bother with mascara today. I had on a dark grey hoodie that used to be my mom's, and underneath was a pink graphic T shirt that I planned to wear originally. I wore it with a pair of blue jeans and my white Adidas.

I slung my backpack over my shoulder and locked the car. I shoved my hands in my pockets and Thea and I made our way into the building.

"I'll see you at lunch." She smiled warmly with a hand on my shoulder. "Text me if you need anything."

I nodded and we departed ways. She went to her locker on the west wing of the school and I went to mine that was towards the middle, by the library. In no time I had headphones in, drowning out just about everything, as I always do.

It's how I travel, headphones in and my eyes lazily gazing but never actually focusing on anything. That's probably why I never know what's going on around me. I'm always consumed in my thoughts.

I arrived at my locker to find someone already there. I recognized the man bun first. Then the black hoodie and black jeans. And of course the black boots.
