Sirens sounded again, making everyone wake up, and tell them they were safe. Liesel walked out with Lucas and Ilsa back to Grande Street.
"Lucas, you should return home, your parents may be worried" Ilsa said. Liesel gave a quick smile to Lucas and she said
"Danke ; thank you, for protecting me" Lucas smiled and walked away.

Liesel walked back home with Ilsa, it was early morning, and the day was beautiful in March. Liesel walked with Ilsa and they opened the door of the house. Liesel yawned and went to her room for her bag.
"Do we have school today?" Liesel asked to Ilsa.
"I don't know, you should go and investigate" Liesel nodded and walked out of the house. She ran with her bag in hand to Lucas's house, and she stepped into the stairs. She was about to knock when she heard something.
"Is she your girlfriend, or what?"
"No, she isn't" Lucas.
"Then, why so much interest in her?"
"Because I love her! Don't you understand?" Liesel turned around but she saw a open window, she smiled. She left her bag and her shoes in the stairs and she walked to it. She stood in her tiptoes, and saw inside. It was a library, similar to the Hermann's house's, but that one was way bigger. Liesel jumped to the window, and stepped in. She wandered around the library when she heard the conversation again.
"You are a dishonor to your family, to your country, to the Führer!" Herr Friedrich said.
"Arthur, you should calm down, you made the same things when you were a teenager" a woman's voice. Liesel though it was Frau Friedrich. She walked silently to the door of the library and and she opened it a little. Herr Friedrich's back was facing Liesel, and Lucas was looking at Liesel's direction. Liesel moved her hands so Lucas could see her. Lucas noticed.
"I'm sorry papa, I really am, but you have to understand that I love her, and I'm doing anything for her" Lucas didn't take the sight from Liesel. He was about to explode into laughter.
"Okay son, but next time, don't run away, let us know when you are going with her"
"Yes, now I'm heading to school" Lucas grabbed his bag and his soccer ball , and walked to the door. Liesel headed to the window and jumped off. She jumped and fell in her feet.
"I can't believe you were inside my house, Liesel" Lucas said laughing.
"Okay, maybe I'm a book thief, still"
"Whenever you want to come in, you know where you can get into the house" Lucas said, still laughing "You didn't take any books, right?"
"No, not this time" and they laughed. They walked through Grande Street when a boy appeared in his bike.
"Hey Friedrich! Finally got a girlfriend? Or she is with you because she was obligated" the boy laughed. He had brown hair, and dark eyes "Hey girl! How does it feels to be the survivor? Probably good, right?" The boy stopped the bike in front of them.
"Leave Liesel alone" Lucas said, leaving his bag in the floor.
"Lucas, don't"
"Yes Friedrich, don't" the boy said, making the same voice as Liesel.
"And who are you to imitate me?" Liesel said, with anger.
"I'm Viktor, Liesel, the savior of the survivor" he said. Liesel rolled her eyes. She hugged Mein Kämpft with her soul. She ain't losing it again. Lucas noticed the way she hugged the book.
"Liesel, we should keep going" Liesel nodded and start walking.
"Why do you hold the book like that?"
"Because I'm not losing it again. Long time ago a guy threw it to the Amper river, and Rudy... Well, I'm not losing it again" Lucas nodded. And they walked to school.
