There were no bombs that night. What happened was that almost every single person in Germany couldn't sleep. People slept in fear that night. But nothing happen.
The next morning, Liesel woke up as always. She stood up from the bed, and stretched. She grabbed the book next to her in the nightstand, and headed directly downstairs to get something to eat. She walked in the wood stairs on her socks, and she felt the heat of sun in her feet. She walked to the kitchen and grabbed an apple. She heard a female voice from the dinning room.
"Liesel, don't eat to much, we are having breakfast soon!" Ilsa said.
"Ja" She walked to the bathroom upstairs and combed her hair, make the usual pigtails, and put on a flower dress with a green coat. She headed downstairs again, with the book in hand and noticed something unusual. The radio was on. Again. Herr Hermann wasn't the person who listened to the radio everyday. Liesel discovered it immediately. Herr Hermann, the mayor, was scared. She decided to ignore that, and went to take breakfast. She took it with Ilsa as always. They were having a simple conversation. Typical sunday. She finished and headed outside, where the boy with smokey hair and blue eyes waited for her, with a grin. Liesel gave him the grin back.
"What are the plans for today, Meminger?" Lucas asked with a half-smile.
"I don't know, what do you want to do today, Friedrich?"
"What the lady wants to" Liesel smiled, and they started walking to what before was München Street. Soldiers already started to construct back the street and the buildings, but it was impossible to bring back what Liesel knew as München Street. They walked through the - few - pieces of buildings and houses. They stared at every single thing in their way to Alex Steiner's shop.
"I promised Alex I'll work today, I don't know if you want to come" Liesel said, while kicking some little rocks.
"Sure, maybe I can help over there" Liesel smiled and before she turned to Alex Steiner's, she looked to Himmel Street. She walked a little bit to it, and stared. She looked everything that was on the ground. And then she saw it. She saw what was an excuse to go with Rudy some days when she wasn't reading to Frau Holzapfel. She saw the soccer ball. She ran to it, and before a soldier took it away, she grabbed it from the soldiers hand, with a slightest move.
"You can't take this to play, girl, this was from-" Liesel interrupted the soldier.
"This was from my best friend, I think I should keep it" The soldier raised an eyebrow.
"The boy over there?" Liesel pressed her lips together.
"No, he's my boyfriend, my best friend died in the bombing" and she showed her back to the soldier before he could say the words that hunted her for years. I'm sorry. She ran back with Lucas. Lucas didn't do any expression. Not surprise. Not jealousy. Just comprehension.
"Rudy's?" Liesel nodded.
"I wanted to keep it" She said. Liesel moved the ball and found a black circle on the ball.
She remembered that once Rudy was playing with the ball, and he kicked it, and hit a wall that Hans was painting of black. Liesel laughed at the act, and Hans returned the ball to Rudy with a sentence that made her laugh more.
"Look at that Rudy! It's you!" Rudy laughed to. He grabbed the ball with both hands, and slowly, made a big circle in the ball.
"This way Liesel won't loose the ball again. We will know which ball is it, don't you think, Saumensch?"
Liesel smiled. Lucas passed and arm through her shoulders, and pressed her slightly to him. Lucas understood. And that's one of the lots of things she loved about him. I'm quite sure that this boy was getting Liesel's heart, slowly, but she was getting it. Lucas and Liesel walked to Alex Steiner's shop, and opened the door.
"Liesel! Hi!" Alex said, with happiness.
"Guten Tag" Liesel answered. Alex smiled and she smiled back. Alex gave a quick stare to Lucas. Liesel understood.
"This is Lucas, my boyfriend" Lucas shook hands with Alex. And almost in the instant, Alex agreed that Lucas could help in the shop. They enjoyed a quite good evening, helping out, and for the first time in a lot of time, Liesel had a quite happy day.

Hey guys! I know it is a short chapter, but it's late and I'm kind of tired because yesterday I slept like two hours. I also wanted to thank you guys for the 400 views! Also for the 200 followers on Instagram! You are really awesome!
Also I wanted to ask you if you could leave a comment of what do you think until now of the fan fiction. I want to know what do you think! Even if you don't like it ( or even you hate it ) I want to know. Maybe with that I can improve some things. Also if you like it please leave a vote! With your support I can get other people to read it! ( and maybe one day, I hope, Markus Zusak can read it, that I guess it is quite complicated, but maybe some day it will happen )
Thank you guys!
