"Liesel, wake up" someone moving lightly her shoulder. "Liesel" She blinked several times.

"Go away Saurkel, I'm not in mood" The hand stopped moving Liesel's shoulders, and grabbed, carefully, the letter. Liesel woke up instantly and ripped the letter from the other hands.

"Whoa, I just came to see you" Lucas said, showing Liesel the palms of his hands. Liesel calmed down, and she rubbed her eyes.

"I'm sorry for calling you Saurkel" She rested her head in the couch. Lucas sat beside her.

"I'm not going to the Hitler Youth meeting today" he said. "Also to school"

"Why?" Liesel asked standing up, and leaving the letter in the nightstand. She started to wander around the library.

"To stay with you, obviously" he said, turning to Liesel with his elbows resting in his legs.

"Well, you should go, unless you want a punishment from the leaders, you know how they are, so..." Liesel stopped to search for the perfect word to describe them "rough". Lucas rolled his eyes and and shook his head.

"They will if they need my presence there"

"They will because they need everyone's presence there, and also remember that maybe the Führer will be there, probably, because he is hanging around here" Lucas nodded.

"You are right!" She stood up and kissed Liesel's forehead "Go and get your uniform, Liesel, today, you and I are going to the Hitler Youth meeting" Liesel smiled and ran upstairs to change. She put on her uniform, and ran downstairs again. Lucas was smiling in the door, with his uniform on.

"You are very quick" Lucas said, with an eyebrow raised. Liesel smiled and grabbed her book and her bag, and they walked together. They ran to school.

After it, they had meetings, but they had to attend to it, separately. Liesel went with the girls, and Lucas with the boys.

Before continuing, there are some things you should know about Lucas Friedrich I haven't told you yet. I forgot.

* His dad owned a factory, a very big factory.

* He did some things in the Hitler Youth ( like the incident with Rudy, Tommy Müller and the birth date of the Führer ) that marked his childhood, and adolescence :

When he was 12, he entered happily to the Hitler Youth. He was completely ready of what could come.Franz Deutscher, the leader of the Hitler Youth, and one of Rudy's enemies, received him with a big, archly, smile. As you know, the smokey hair and the dark brown eyes weren't that received in Nazi Germany. I mean, if you had dark eyes and smokey hair you were classified as non-german. But, there were exceptions if you had intense blue eyes. That's Lucas case. When he arrived to the meeting, Franz smiled.

"Friedrich! To the front!" He stepped into the front of the line of boys. He stood with his head looking to the front. When Franz ordered to stop, Lucas fell to the ground because one of the older kids pushed him. They laughed. Franz just smiled.

"Friedrich! 10 runs!" He stood up, looking hatefully to the kid and started running. When Lucas passed next to Franz, Franz spitted into Lucas's feet. Lucas stopped. He looked hatefully to Franz.

"What Friedrich? You are going to stop for 10 runs more?" He laughed.

"I'm not your servant" Lucas replied. Franz stopped laughing, and Lucas received a slap. What did Lucas do? Give him the slap back. They fought until someone stopped them. Lucas received his Watschen for not following orders from Franz Deutscher. I know what you are thinking. No, Franz Deutscher did not die in the bombs. No. He survived.

In the meeting of the Hitler Youth, everyone was lined up. Lucas instantly realized that the Führer was actually there. Lucas lined up next to one of his best friends, Andrew Brauer.

"So, Liesel, huh?" Andrew whispered and elbowed Lucas's ribs.

"Geschlossen, Brauer" They smiled. The Führer looked at every single of the boys standing there. Then, at the same time, every boy sang a << Heil Hitler! >> to the Führer. He smiled. And he smiled even more when he saw Lucas.

"Oh, Lucas, great to see you here" The Führer smiled. Lucas returned the smile.

"Nice to see you to, Herr Führer" Franz Deutscher gave Lucas a hateful look.

"How's Liesel?" Lucas grimaced.

"Bad, Herr, she received a letter that her mother died" The Führer grimaced to.

"I'll tell her later that I'm sorry" Lucas nodded. It's very amazing how someone can change from someone who kills to someone who feels sorry for someone else.
