David was getting accustomed to waking up with a smell of coffee on the table. Tara always wakes up early no matter how late she slept the night before. Tara's hair was in a bun tied on top. Strands of hair fell on her cheeks and nape. For him, it was such a beautiful sight, if only she was his.

"Good morning. Come and have your breakfast early. Dylan said I have to be there at eight sharp."

David walked to the dining table. She prepared bacon and eggs with bread. And his coffee.

"I can drop you there."

"Aw, thanks. That would be great."

"You okay now?"

"Yeah, I think so. Had no bad dreams. Prayed there will be no more bad dreams. Can't figured them out anyway."

"I am actually wondering if we can see a psychologist who might be able to help you understand your dreams and maybe figure everything out...what do you think?"

"Uhm...that's a great idea. Do you think it could help?"

"The doctor said so.."

Tara was suddenly quiet. Then agreed. Come what may. She was both scared and willing.

David dropped her off at Dylan's. He will pick her up later at five. That means he needed to leave work early. Life in Conyers, recently, was quiet and peaceful. So most of them were back to their office works and boring street surveillance.

At lunch time, Tara called her. Asked what his lunch was and advised him to eat many. He smiled. It gathered mooing from his colleagues. It was very rare to see David smiling while talking with somebody on his cellphone. Normally, they saw wrinkled brows.

Only after Tara's call that he remember to call Doctor Johnson. He dialled his number.

"Detective Loki..."

"Hi Doctor...Tara agreed to have a therapy with a psychologist-"

"Wait, who is Tara?"

"The woman in the hospital, I called her that for the meantime..."

"Ah, hasn't she been picked up by her relative yet?"

"No. Nobody has been looking for her... yet."

"Well, somebody claiming to be her relative, went here yesterday. He showed a picture of the woman. One of the nurse recognized her and she advised the man to look for you..."

"What time yesterday?"

"Early..around nine perhaps."

"Did he know I worked for Conyers Police?"

"Yeah, the nurse advise him to go there at the police station and look for you."

David's heart skip a beat. He was here all day yesterday and nobody asked for him. Even until now.

"Thanks for the information Doctor. I will call back."

He wondered why the man had not showed up yet. If he was eager to find Tara, he would immediately go here after getting the information from the hospital. He remembered what Tara said, she was running. He sensed something not good is about to happen. He immediately left his station and dialled Tara's number.

Tara was confused as she approaches David's car. She was taking off her apron while walking. David called her and asked to immediately leave the place.

"What happened?" She asked when she got in the car.

"There was a man in the hospital yesterday morning with a picture of you, the nurses gave him my name and where to find me but nobody showed up yet. Do you see where I am coming from?"

Tara nodded. If the person knew her he would immediately go to the police station and asked for her. She suddenly got scared.

"I just...I don't feel good about it. We may have to go somewhere else." David was driving fast.

They reached the house in only about 20 minutes. They will only need some few important things. The two immmediately got out of the car and almost ran towards the house. David tried to open the door. Tara heard a gunshot.

David fell on the ground. Another gunshot. It was like a slow motion. He saw horror on Tara's face. She was screaming his name. She ran towards him but the two men approached her and grabbed her, gripping her arms. She tried to fight them. They were just too strong. They brought her to the car on the road. A man emerged from the car. He saw the man squeezed Tara's face. Tara spit on the man's face. Did Tara recognize the man? He saw the man punched Tara in her gut. Tara fainted. They got her in the car. Then left.

David saw it all and was not able to do anything. His body was numb. He felt the blood gushing from his chest and limbs. Everything happened so fast. He tried to searched for his phone using his left hand. Before he lost all his strength. His right arm was numb. He felt he was going to faint anytime soon. He dialled 911. His vision got blurred.

Then everything was dark.
