Prisoner's Prisoner

Chapter 24

Sarah and David were holding their breaths. David trying to ignore the pain on his leg everytime it touches something. They heard gunshots from below. Maybe Antonio's men were trying to open the door where they were locked in. Antonio was shouting her name. It seemed like they had not found what they were looking for. Sarah was confused. She knew she hid it there. Sarah looked at David. David shook his head, as if telling her he knew nothing about it.

They crawled faster but with care. The house was traditionally made. They had to follow the wooden framework of the ceiling. The Hardiflex ceiling panels could not carry their weights.

Antonio got mad when his men did not find his stuff. He thought Sarah fooled him. He had gone worse when he found out the two was missing. All his men surrounded the whole area. Looking for any exits that the two might take.

"We need to climb down." David whisper. "Somebody will follow us here anytime soon."

"On his room. We can go there and maybe get some firearms." Sarah whispered. Sarah led the way to Antonio's bedroom.

They just saw a way to Antonio's bedroom when a man popped his head on the air vent where they entered. The man radioed everybody. The man fired but the two were already able to climb down. David hurt his leg when he jumped down. It bled more.

They immediately locked the bedroom door and pushed one of the movable cabinet against the door. They heard footsteps coming their way. Sarah ran to the door on the side to reveal different kinds of firearms.

David was surprised. "You know how to use these?"

"Maybe..." Sarah said while trying to load a Gloc 17.

David got himself an MP5 at the same time wondering how Antonio was able to get those kind of guns. This was his second time to use that kind of gun. The first was on ground training.

Sarah noticed the blood on David's leg. She ripped the hem of her dress and tied it around David's leg. She also noticed that David's face had gotten pale. He must have lost a lot of blood.

"We can make it." Sarah whispered.

David shot the man entering the air vent on the ceiling. David and Sarah hid on the bathroom while trying to gun down anyone who will enter the room. Two had tried to enter through the air vents on the ceiling.

A lot of gunshots can be heard outside. Lots of gunpowder can be seen as the door to the bedroom and the cabinet were starting to lose their weights.

David closed the door to the bathroom. He and Sarah was holding their breaths. For a minute or two there was silence. Then they heard the cabinet was pushed aside. They were already able to open the door. Then there was silence again.

"Sarah!" It was Antonio. He had entered the bedroom. "Look what you have done to my house... I regret the very first day I laid my eyes on you."

The two were very quiet. They were trying to hear where Antonio's footsteps are.

"You ruined everything! Now, you have to die..."

They heard him open the doors of his closets. David gestured to Sarah. He would get out. He can outgun Antonio. Sarah was scared but she nodded in agreement. David tried to walk, putting his body weight on his right foot.

David slowly opened the door then walked out. Sarah heard a gunshot. She saw David fell, his back on the floor.

"Nooo!" Her screams echoed in the bathroom.
