Elizabeth Jensen sat in her bathtub, watching as the water dropped from the shower head. She was trapped in her thoughts. She kept on thinking about how no one told her about Jessica. She couldn't get passed it. Elizabeth didn't know what to think. She thought he loved her, but he kept such a huge secret from her. Did he really love her? It did he just stay with her for the sex?

Elizabeth's thoughts were interrupted by her mom calling to her from downstairs.

She quickly got out of her bathtub, put on some sweats and rushed downstairs. "What, mom?" She questioned, groaning.

"You're being asked to testify on the Hannah Baker trial." Lainie spoke to her as she handed her a packet. "Both you and Clay."

"Isn't that your trial?" Elizabeth's mom nodded in response to her question. "Is that even legal?"

"I'm afraid so."

"Well, this is shit." Elizabeth sighed as she sat down on the couch. "What the fuck am I supposed to do now? Talk about how much I miss her? We split apart naturally. It wasn't anyone's fault."

"First of all, language." Lainie chuckled as she sat next to her daughter, wrapping her arm around her. "And if you tell them that, nothing will happen to you. Now, is anything else going on that you need to tell me about?"

Elizabeth looked over at her. She almost told her everything she knew, which honestly wasn't that much, but she decided to bite her tongue. "Justin and I are broken up."

Lainie's expression dropped. "I'm sorry, honey." She  hugged her daughter, running her hand through Elizabeth's hair soothingly. "I know how hard that is." Elizabeth nodded as she tried not to cry.

She pulled away from the hug and looked at her mother. "Is it alright if I stay home from school today?"

"Of course." Her mom smiled as she watched her stand and walk up the stairs.

Elizabeth walked into her room and saw Justin sitting on her bed. She could tell that he hadn't slept all night. "Get the fuck out of my house." Elizabeth frowned as she pointed to the open window. "If you don't leave, I'm gonna scream."

"Please, just let me talk." Justin stood up and walked towards her, but for every step he took, she took one away from him. "Let me explain."

"You lied to me about everything." Elizabeth's back was against the wall.

"I know, but I was trying to protect you." Justin nodded as he backed up.
