The last five months, Elizabeth Jensen had been a wreck. She would have never admitted it, but every day she felt regret for sending Justin away in the way that she had. She had not seen him for just over five months, and it was killing her. She missed him more than she could say. She missed waking up next to him. She missed holding him in her arms. She missed how he could always make her laugh. She missed the love they had for each other. The girl began drinking every day, trying to cover up her sadness. She did not want to feel sad anymore, so she decided to not feel anything.

Jessica Davis was put on house arrest for most of the five months, so the only person that she could really spend any time with was Zach Dempsey. The two had grown close over the months. They would go see a movie every saturday night. Zach would come over to Elizabeth's house almost every night. Elizabeth was the only person Zach had told about his relationship with Hannah.

Elizabeth only felt kind of alright when she was with Zach.

She stood at her locker with her back to the rest of the hall as she poured vodka into her metal water bottle. "Fuck, since when do you drink at school?" Elizabeth heard a familiar voice next to her. She turned to see Jessica Davis.

Her eyes widened as she wrapped her arms around Jessica. "Jess, why didn't you tell me you were coming back today."

"I wanted it to be a surprise." Jessica wiggled her eyebrows at Elizabeth. Jessica looked over at Alex Standall, who was walking with a cane as Zach Dempsey took his books to carry for him. "We're both back today."

"I meant to ask you guys about my note." Alex stated as he and Zach approached Jessica and Elizabeth at her locker.

"What note?" Elizabeth furrowed her eyebrows.

"My suicide note." Alex answered her as he took it out of his backpack.

"Jesus!" Zach exclaimed. "Put that away."

"It's not radioactive." Alex stared at him blankly.

"Actually, it kind of is." Elizabeth shrugged.

Zach sighed as he looked around the hallways. "It's just that we're not allowed to talk about suicide."

"Or you. Or Hannah." Elizabeth finished for Zach.

Jessica scoffed. "Says who?"

"Says the school." Zach answered her. "They made a rule the day after you-" Zach made eye contact with Alex and then lowered his eyes to the ground. "After that day."
